Chrome or Iron both have a few compatibility issues to work through judging by the past few months of using both
Still its always nice to have an alternative if for what ever reason your main browser doesnt like page/website/forum etc Last edited by buttsie; November 30th, 2008 at 11:57 PM.. Reason: adding another |

For me Firefox is number 1 of choise. Not only for the add ons, I like the handling too. And for those who think chrome is faster, take a look at step 13:
http://maketecheasier.com/28-coolest...cks/2008/08/21 With this little trick, Chrome is a slug, Firefox a Ferrari. Give it a try and have fun

It really perplexes me that you need to configure the supposebly best browser for optimum performance...its an oxymoron if I ever heard one
Its the main reason why 47% of the browsing market still use IE 6 & 7 Browser Statistics Month by Month 2008 IE7 IE6 Chrome Firefoxx Moz Safari Opera October 26.9% 20.2% 3.0% 44.0% 0.4% 2.8% 2.2% Thanks for the link. On another forum i frequent a very well credentialled techie who seems to always know what hes talking about made the comment that there are a lot of tweaks for reducing memory usage in regards to firefox but some can actually be detrimental to its performance I guess its a bit of trial and error and if something doesnt work out re-install and start again Last edited by buttsie; December 2nd, 2008 at 06:36 AM.. I never had probs with this hack, but there are also add ons like FasterFox and No Script that give it a boost
HF /edit, I know a lot of people that didn t know bout Firefox untill I told them, I think there are a lot of people out there, that donīt care so much about open source projects, perhabs a lack of trust?

btw...
I forgot, this AddOn is a simple nice idea, easy to configure, I have 5 adresses addet to it, and they load in about 3 sec after that config trick https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/2677 HF but like you said, the costs of RAM is hefty on Firefox, as you see, I have 2 Firefox windows open with 5 tabs complete, one down- and one upload on RS and a stream movie loading, 25% of 3 gb

Bottom line...if you do it on the internet it is never private
Information stored on ISP servers will sooner or later be harvested if its not already...highest bidder As most of us should know by now Firefox is the only one who has thrown the eula agreement out I've tried most of the browsers over the last month and chrome & iron while being fast still have too many bugs While my system cant cope with firefox 3 and its resource requirements earlier versions of firefox are as good if not better than both iron & chrome |

Always pays to check out the developers home page/forum before you go using any browser
as they all have issues with software compatibility/conflicts In chromes case http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome?hl=en Glowing reviews speaking of faster loading pages and a more secure stable set-up are all well and dandy except their not using your computer and all the software you have installed so effectively their usefulness is limited The recent Firefox 4 (RC)is no exception...8000 issues fixed in alpha beta testing 30% of existing firefox add-ons still untested for compatibility Wonder how many will be fixed in the RC stage?
