They may try to ban VPN's, but how will they enforce it? And in the (very) unlikely event that they did impose a ban and it was successful, how long would it be before a viable alternative circumvented the legislation?

There will always be a way round any measure for the few, but it's the many the govt. cares about.

How to ban VPNs? The simplest way would be to add their sites to the block list that all ISPs use. So if you already use a VPN you'll be fine, but most non-technical users tempted to use one wouldn't be able to find it. Add some draconian prison sentences and swingeing fines for use and you'll knock out 90% of potential users.

I will say controlling the net maybe the establishments top priority to maintain the status quo. These last elections (UK, US, France) just shows how tedious their grasp has become.

There is still the on-going criminal case against VIP paedophiles - or is it still on-going? The establishment, in an obvious charade, set up a farcical "case" against well-known paedophiles. The initial High Court judge was related to one of the accused - who was then dropped. Another judge was brought in - a female New Zealander - received huge amounts of public money as a fee for literally doing nothing. She was also removed. The MSM report it as if it's been "dogged" with problems. Nothing of the sort! It is simply the pretence of the elites showing "concern" and "wanting to see justice done".
