Freddie 'Parrot-Face' Davis.
Does anyone here remember the British comedian of the 1970s, Freddie 'Parrot-Face' Davis?
Yes, bizarre as it seems to our modern sensibilities, that was his 'official' stage name, his shtick seemed to revolve entirely around the size of his nose that was massive (altogether too big for his face), hooked and club-like (really), and apart from that, all he ever did was make 'humorous' 'shhh-shhh' noises from his mouth at the ends of words, no I'm not making this up.Also, I recall he wore an over-size bowler hat, down past his ears and a distinctly dodgy 'flashers' mac'. Popular with children, I seem to remember a kids' TV show back in the dark, Ted Heath days of the mid '70s called 'Samuel Tweet' in which he played an inept pet shop-assistant. Is he still performing? |

Yes, I remember him. I'm not sure about the sound he did: either you put your tongue behind the ridge in the roof of your mouth and then say words ending in 'S' or 'sh' you'd get the sound he made, or you just did a 'raspberry' at the end of a word.
Did he do the 'litterbug' advert around that time? The one where the man runs around litter bins chucking screwed up balls of paper anywhere but the bins? I seem to remember he had a flasher's mac and a bowler hat.

He was in Funny Bones in 1995 and I seem to remember Him in an episode of Casualty, probably about the same time.

He also had a cameo role in one of the early Harry Potter films, as one of the speaking portraits on the stairs at Hogwarts.

Is Freddie still alive?
I'm affraid that I've reached an age where I see a celebrity death and find myself amazed that they hadn't gone many years since. |

seany65 just put your tongue loosely between your lips and say the word sick, but say it blowing out a little.
I found him funny, but then again I wanted to be Harry Worth, so what do I know.
