As a sports fan living in a city that hosts a tennis grand slam and grand prix (but wouldn't dare hold such events at the same time,). I've noticed a few times over the years that the Men's final at Wimbledon and the British GP have been held at the same time. On a couple of occasions, this also includes a stage of the Tour de France.

Which even takes up the most attention?

Well the girls all watch tennis and the chaps watch the Grand Prix. Who said sexism was dead?

The two events are about 85 miles apart and we have a lot more people to spread between the events - so both viable.

Plus, the remarkable English brain is capable of following two disparate happenings at the same time - it's called "weather".

Okay I am an American just to make it clear. I have NetFlix, gifted to me by my son, so I watch many UK series. My question is do UKers have as much problem with heavy Scot, Irish , and or Welsh accents as non Ukers? Because it is a problem for me but like I said I ain't one of ya'll.

Yes, strong Scottish and Irish accents are a nightmare to understand. Think Brad Pitt in the film Snatch gives you an idea.
