We voted to leave and I think the watered down version we are heading towards compromises too much, it is certainly not what we voted for.

May fucked up her own position by calling an unnecessary general election, I do not trust her to negotiate a good deal, she is adopting the Neville Chamberlain approach and giving ground way too easily, I'd love to play poker with her. I am shit at cards but I'd beat her any day

Boris Johnson has launched a scathing attack on Theresa May's Brexit strategy, saying the "dream is dying, suffocated by needless self-doubt".

In his letter resigning as foreign secretary he claimed the prime minister was leading the UK into a "semi-Brexit" with the "status of a colony".

His resignation came hours after Brexit Secretary David Davis quit the cabinet.

Mrs May insists her plans are the "the best way to honour" the Brexit vote, amid a deepening political crisis.

Time will tell whether Mrs May can pass her proposal for Britain's negotiating position through Parliament. I am indifferent to what becomes of her premiership if she is not able to carry the vote though failing to win a vote of confidence can only have one outcome. But in a wider context, she tried hard to produce a Brexit plan which would carry enough Tory support to get through, but failed. I see no likelihood that the Tories can unite behind any other plan - they are like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and whatever else if proposed will either be too hard or too soft, leading to new schisms.

It is hard to see any solution to such an impasse except yet another General Election. Unless the Tories pick a credible leader (David Davis probably) they are not going to win.

Scoundrel, as much as I admire and back your taste in vintage pornography, I'm afraid I must disagree with you on this. (You do seem like you'd be good fun/conversation over a few down at the local!).

The fiasco that was the Brexit referendum of June 23rd 2016 was a non binding one from the onset, because of one major characteristic of the democratic system of this country, and that has been inherently part of our traditions since Charles I : the sovereignty of Parliament.

This is inherent to the British "Rule of Law" that (should-but in some cases doesn't) govern our Nation.( If you want to learn more about that, my daughter's boyfriend introduced me to a youtube channel called Count Dankula, he raises a fair few good points in a video entitled "The Actual State of the UK") but I digress...


The way our Nation's political system works is based in part on a millenium of history, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that's what people who voted for Brexit wanted? To "preserve Britain's History"?
