I've also noticed that many mags (e.g. M*yf**r) are published every four weeks (13 issues per year) - is there a term for that?

Another (Urban) myth dispelled?

Uncle Tom's Cabin was published in 1852; the term fortnight has fallen into disuse since then in North America (or at least in the US) - to the point where I would bet that a majority of graduating high school students today do not know what it means.

A quick Google search finds 3.86 billion hits for 'week' 3.64 million hits for 'month', and only 19.1 million hits for fortnight. Put another way, 'week' has 200 times more hits than 'fortnight'.

And the sennite has all but disappeared from use. The Scots still use "forenoon" to mean morning.

Sadly, sennite has only 379,000 Google hits, and a number of those appear to be a name of some sort (given name or surname)...sennight has 147,000...forenoon has just short of 3,500,000 hits.

Yes, that was understood, what I didn't expect was that Sennite also became a name somewhere along the way...if you disregard the hits attributable to the name, the term sennite has even fewer hits than Google would suggest.

Heard something in the last couple of days I haven't been able to verify. Someone in the media has said that Wal Mart employees in the UK and Europe are unionized. Does anyone know if that is true?
