sandhunter started this nonsense, and he is not an aussie. Aussies are crazy by nature because of the fact that there is this constant battle between humans and all the lethal lifeforms in Australia. A guy wakes up in the morning only to find a 10 foot snake in his bathroom. You have to sleep with a fly net surrounding your bed, and don't even think of sleeping outside on a hammock. Everyday when you open your car you might find a ton of flies in the engine. and almost everywere you go there are kangaroos and camels screwing up the works. Roos are certainly not endangered so why not organize hunting parties. A score of men with high powered rifles could prowl the neighborhoods in an open truck and shoot any roos that are just lingering around. Then you could sell it to a meat market.!

I've eaten roo before, apparently it's the healthiest red meat there is, not a big fan of it though, was more a try it thing and only ever at restaurants, but on pizza never have or will, I know it's been done though but not for this little black duck.

I just looked it up and several articles first say that it is a protected animal, so if one is found with a live or dead platypus you will be arrested and prosecuted. Secondly the males have poisonous quills in their skin and this poison can get into its muscle too, so unless you really know what you are doing, cooking and eating a platypus can be lethal.
