Pub names for the 21st century
We're all familiar with pub names such as the Rose & Crown, Kings Arms or The Railway. Names that bore some local significance or celebrated important events or persons at the time they were built. This format of nomenclature has stood the test of time so in this thread I invite you to suggest pub names that reflect modern times. Please try and support your entries with an illustration. ____________________ To kick off, I'm sure you're sick of seeing tracksuited louts making our fellow citizens' lives unpleasant. Despite living off benefits they can always afford cigarettes, booze and Sky TV. Latterly they've sought to own aggressive canines (eg pitbulls) for use as status symbols and as weapons to intimidate their crotch-scratching peers. In recognition of this modern social phenomenon, I would like to name my first pub.... The Chav & Terrier ____________________ That bloke who lives a few doors along, the social aspirer you greet but never engage in conversation. Every Sunday morning he parks his Mercedes in the street outside his house and hoses it down using a Karcher pressure washer whilst wearing matching yellow Karcher wellingtons. This allows him to intercept passing acquaintances and talk loudly about himself in a manner that makes you cringe. Social standing thus reaffirmed for yet another week, he proceeds to spend the next six hours blasting the algae off his block paving one square centimetre at-a-time as his poor neighbours try and ignore the noise. You'll find him bullshitting at anyone willing to listen in the bar at the...... Twat & Pressure Washer
