Just lie back and think of Rachel Maddow, relax and leave a positive message to all the fellow porn enthusiasts. Because on the internet porn fans are a minority*.

There I said it! Yes, I know it's unfashionable but I am a perfectly everyday human being. I have no hidden vices, no religious hang-ups and I don't belong to any oppressed groups. I'm just a reasonably well off, happy guy from the home counties of England.

I have a large, happy family who don't argue at Christmas and no ex-wife draining me of cash and self-respect. I have many friends.

Some times I don't know how I live with myself. I mean, how will I ever write a famous song or a best-selling novel when I don't have a tortured soul. I am an utter failure.

Me, I don't feel oppressed or any of that , I make the most of living in a luck country. Life ain't perfect but I go out of my way at times to strive for that, problems I get I take care of them as fast as I can before they become bigger.

Maybe this is a generational thing, but I have neither the desire nor the expectation that I can share intimate things about myself with complete strangers and not hear some kind of uncomfortable feedback.

It's rather like sitting on a plane next to an evangelical Christian and getting propositioned to talk about God. No, I'd rather not, and furthermore, I'm going to make that as uncomfortable for you as it is for me.

So much of life today, thanks to social media, develops this expectation that we can (or should) share every last thing about ourselves and that the act of doing it can't be held against us. It is my right as a person to not participate in your life, whatever that is, and some forms of personal expression fairly seem to depend on other people going along with it.

Do I want to watch porn with (XYXYXYXYX), absolutely, I think it would be sexy and fun to show her what I enjoy and see what she enjoys. But I also understand that is a very intimate thing, and making it a case of "This is who I am" doesn't change that, for example.
