My mother actually taped the live coverage of Princess Diana's funeral procession onto tape back in 1997.
I think we still have it somewhere...

Anyone out there ever tape (and/or convert to digital video content?) the excellent bikini contests and other similar events that were shown on Network One stations [the UPN stations] of the mid to late '90s? This type of material was only shown between 2 AM and 6 AM after the impressionable kiddies were presumably asleep. But I could not legally get porn where I lived until at least a year after I noticed this type of programming, so on the weekends I would sometimes stay up late to watch N1 / UPN content.

At this time, roughly 1995-96, there was another type of show that was great: Nowhere Man, about the same type of the story that The Fugitive was, except for television. I believe that the main character Tom was played by a certain actor who was in The Hunt For Red October and a few other movies or TV shows, if I am not mistaken. I ought to look up all of this stuff in Wikipedia, saving everyone reading this the time, but I just thought that the '90s had the best TV and the worst music since 1992.

When I was younger, my uncle was a die-hard fan of Combat! and recorded several episodes on VHS.

Even in my 30s with all of the magic of special effects and advancements in cinematography that today's movies offer, I still find myself drawn to the stories, characters, and actors that this series produced!

Although I must say it's nice not to have to fast-forward through commercials!
