It is bit of a catch-22, you've to believe in order to see. Instead of asking for evidence I like to ask where does adopting certain beliefs lead me. It is a question of how useful or how peaceful or loving I will be by adopting the beliefs. It is by the fruits that you'll know a thing.

I think it is more of a case we "left" God in a childish tantrum rather than he threw us out, like how some kids run away from home after a dispute with their family, and kids being kids tend to find rather awful places to run away to.

Genesis is fairly clear,Adam and Eve were driven out of the garden by an angel with a flaming sword. That's not leaving in a tantrum,That's being thrown out by a merciless and vindictive god.

Going by The Bible, you'd be right but I don't buy into the idea of a vindictive God, it gives me nothing but fear. I want peace and happiness, not fear and punishment. God being just an abstract idea of pure Love is more useful for my purposes, which is why I like A Course In Miracles

You come across as sincere in your beliefs dwvbf and I'm not the young and callow fellow that I used to be. I've long given up my firmly held belief that I was the final arbitrator on what was true. I respectfully submit that we agree to disagree.

Loosegoose is right. To assert there are 2 possibilities: It's real or it isn't, means there's a 50 / 50 chance of any unknown being right is crazy! There either are or aren't invisible leprechauns therefore there's a 50 / 50 chance of either possibility being true yeah?

The Silver Cord. A theory repeated in several religions and ideologies. It's the connector between the living body and the spiritual self. It is mentioned in Ecclesiastes and has been seen by multiple persons who have experienced near-death events.

So what other possibilities are there? I've merely tried to narrow things down to the most basic level on a topic that has no provable, definite answer that can be provided by a living person. We will all find out what really happens after we die.

What other possibilities would you suggest (make sure that they don't fall into either category of something or nothing)? BTW - I said that there was something or nothing - not it's real or isn't. That was the most basic answer I could boil down to for the original question. As for invisible leprechauns - you could still catch them, feel them, accidentally hit them with a car, smell them after they died, paint them after you trapped them. They (if they exist) would be here with us. What happens after we die is beyond a door we can't negotiate and give a definite answer to. That's why I chose 'something or nothing'. That answer covers everything.

By the way guys - I'm not trying to 'be right' or 'one up' anyone. I'm not trying to have the last word either. I'm just trying to get as close to the truth as possible. And when we can't seem to prove that truth either way then we are left with possibilities. If you can figure out a way to prove or disprove them please do so.
