The VEF Chill out Lounge
I don't know if this will take off but here goes. This is the virtual lounge for you to come in, chill out(I won't use chillax) and put your feet up for a nice drink and a chat. Tell us about your day or what you have done or doing in the week. Share a problem or a tip about modern life that might benefit others. We need a bartender of course, all applicants must be able to frequent the Lounge at least twice a week and if you want the post of Advisor see me
For any lounge lizards there is music from some of your favourite artists including Buddy GECKO and Herb Alpert and his IGUANA Brass and small snug area to chat in private. If you're a builder come in and get plastered, we accept all sorts in there. Anyway there is it-use or not-up to you. Now who's for the first beer, it's on the house to the first 20 people (_)D "You want to go where, everybody knows your name!"

Great idea GreenSkull. Well today I went up to see my Mum in Durham for her 83rd birthday. I hav'nt lived in the North East for five years so have lost touch with the pubs.
Went to the Thinford Inn which used to do a very nice carvery and it was bland and the meat was tough. Driving home over the moors (I was heading back to Scarborough) I followed an old Ford Focus that had no brake lights working. If anyone knows the road between Teeside and The North Yorkshire coast, they will know the problem. I fucking nearly shit myself following this idiot. I had no moblile phone reception to ring the police (being on the moors) and there was no way to overtake. Fucking horrible day guys (other than seeing my mum). Hope you have all had a better time. tabs.

Well I didn't like to say anything but yeah you're right GREENMAN not GREENSKULL tabler
My day has been long and arduous. I got to the Doctor's really early and it was absolutely heaving-Wednesdays along with Mondays and Fridays are blood test days and my Doctor normally sees me on Tuesday or Thursday(the only days she does) so this was odd. No chairs to sit on, standing up for half an hour then another twenty minutes after my due time went past before I was seen by her. I had one of those blood pressure monitors used instead of it being done manually and god my arm ached as the cuff tightened more and more until it stopped, held for a minute and then released the pressure. BP 135/92 bottom number a little high and then she said to me "I'm going to give some AMLOPODINE". Okay, new pills and perhaps swollen ankles but I get that anyway with the other pills. Finally I got out of the surgery(also having been given some blood test forms for next time) and then went to the local pharmacist to fill the prescriptions. I had another 20min wait for those and it cost me over £15(£7.65 per prescription) and then I trudged home for a well-earned cup of tea. I hope your day was good. Barman, a lemonade if you please.

Barman, I will have a beer and a shooter of your finest bourbon.
My day started with having to get blood drawn for normal testing. I don't have to go to the doctor for this, but a local lab which performs the work. Being where they are located and their cronic understaffed condition, I had to get up and leave an hour early to get the work done. I do this simply so I can be the first in and first out. The lady sucking the blood out of me wasn't starting her day well. She thought she had found a vein and stuck in the needle. Nothing. She pulled it out and tried again. Nothing. So she starts pulling it part way out and sticking back in. She finds a nerve, sending pain shooting up and down my arm. At this point she decides to work on the other arm, finds the vein, and sucks out the blood. Then I head into work and it is meetings and phone calls all day. Meeting with the boss, calls with vendors, calls with customers, meeting with the boss again, never getting a chance to eat lunch, searching for one invoice from one vendor from January that nobody can seem to find (except for me). Then scrambling to do a reimbursement for 5 months of credit card charges which the boss hadn't bothered to submit earlier. Now I need to sit back, relax, and have a drink before the line of extremely powerful thunderstorms hits and knocks out power for everybody. Does anybody mind if I light up my pipe? |
