Default How do you watch your video? [moved]

I am interested in the different methods members choose to watch a variety of video formats. For example, I've noticed from different comments that many members appear to watch avi videos on standard definition TVs using avi compatible DVD players. So I created a brief survey to discover how members prefer to watch different video formats.

I also want to learn from this discussion how to best share some tips I have found for enhancing video playback. As it would take a lot of work, I am curious how interested others are in this subject.

To give you an idea of what I am referring to, here are screenshots that show video enhancement.

Original

Enhanced

Survey:

1. How do you watch downloaded porn?

a) Through computer on computer monitor. Size info optional?
b) Standalone DVD player on SDTV (standard definition TV)
c) Through computer on HDTV
d) Through standalone upscaling DVD player on HDTV

2. How do you watch your “store bought movie” DVD’s?

a) Standalone DVD player
b) Standalone upscaling DVD player
c) Standalone Blu-ray upscaling on HDTV
d) Use computer to upscale on HDTV
e) Use computer with computer monitor

3. How do you watch Blu-ray? (If you have a standalone Blu-ray player please make sure to mention it.)

a) Standalone Blu-ray player on HDTV
b) Computer Blu-ray drive on HDTV
c) Computer Blu-ray drive with computer monitor
d) Don't have either to watch Blu-ray

So for example my answers would be…

1. A & C (list them in order of preference or use) 17"
2. D
3. D since I don’t have a Blu-ray player/drive

My answers are simple. I watch everything through my computer and 30" monitor as I don't own a tv or separate dvd or blu ray players.

So
1 = A 30"
2 = E
3 = None of those answers as I watch mine through the pc on my monitor.

I edit all downloaded movies first with Roxio. I edit out the men in MF scenes (and all my pet peeves) and genital closeups etc and loop a lot with transitions. So I edit for content not HD, contrast, colors etc. Then burn them onto a DVD.

1) B
2) A
3) no blue ray;

edit: I actually have a Ps 3 but have yet to watch bluray; just might though...

1) A 22" monitor
2) C Ps3
3) A Ps3

I do some encoding as well but I never felt the need to make them blu ray compliant. But following Denaniel's suggestion and guide I just might.

1: dedicated media player on TV or a
2:b
3:d

I can recommend everyone to use a dedicated media player. I have bought an Apacer AL460, which plays more than 75% of everything I download from this forum. It plays Full HD movies too.
For the ones with a non-supported codec I use my PC.

I watch all my pr0n with the sound turned very low and one finger on the escape button or chanel switch button

Usually VHS or DVD from a stand alone machine onto a CRT TV

I sometimes watch those free clips from streaming sites that can be up to 20 mins and I have an old HP laptop. I cant actully download pictures or video owing to restrictions on the system that I have to use

Don't have HD TV or indeed LCD or Plasma TV

Don't have digital TV, Cable TV or satelite

Don't have a blue ray player and have no plans to buy one...ever

We have 5 regular TVs and an assortment of VHS VCR and DVD players

d) Online at VEF
Have not realy realy looked into blu-ray compliant encoding but that looks where things will go. I still mostly make square pixel avi encodings to be viewed on computer.

For viewing when i want most out of the older material i use DVD format.
