"Cold Fish" is a 2010 Japanese serial killer film directed by Sion Sono.

The film is about a quiet and unambitious owner of a tropical fish shop whose life and family are taken over by a fellow fish entrepreneur who happens to be a serial killer.

The film is loosely based on the real exploits of two Tokyo serial killers, a husband and wife duo who owned a pet shop and murdered at least four people.

The Day After (1983( with Jason Robards. Depicts a nuclear attack on Kansas City and the missile silos nearby.

Utterly depressing and then you learn this is a best case scenario. Apparently helped to turn minds in the White House including Reagan.

Default Matewan (1987)

Mingo County, West Virginia, 1920. Coal miners, struggling to form a union, are up against company operators and the gun thugs of the notorious Baldwin-Felts detective agency. Black and Italian miners, brought in by the company to break the strike, are caught between the two forces. UMWA organizer and dual-card Wobbly Joe Kenehan determines to bring the local, Black, and Italian groups together. While Kenehan and his story are fictional, the setting and the dramatic climax are historical; Sid Hatfield, Cabell C. Testerman, C. E. Lively and the Felts brothers were real-life participants, and 'Few Clothes' is based on a character active several years previously.

Default The very most disturbing of all films for me

Waco: The Rules Of Engagement

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120472/?ref_=nv_sr_1

This controversial documentary about the stand-off between an unorthodox Christian group - the Branch Davidians, under the leadership of the young, charismatic David Koresh - and the FBI and ATF in Waco, Texas, from February to April 1993 presents a different spin on the events from that of the United States government, which held that the Branch Davidians set the fire that destroyed their compound, and killed the vast majority of them, on April 19, 1993. Using footage from the 51 day siege, from the congressional hearings afterwards, from people involved in all aspects of the siege, and from experts technical, psychological, and religious, the movie suggests that the Branch Davidians were not a cult, but a valid religious group practicing under First Amendment freedoms who fell victim to first the ineptitude of an ATF raid designed to garner the agency positive attention and later the cruel, methodical work of the FBI, who over-saw the murder of the Davidians and then quickly covered it up.

I remember the media event that "The Day After" became in the 1980s - yet having watched that film, I always thought "Threads" made by the BBC about the same period (1984) was the more unnerving and bleaker of the two. Threads dealt with a nuclear attack on Sheffield, and after watching Threads back then, I was left with the impression that the survivors of any nuclear war would envy the dead...

I got a tip from an old buddy on another forum to watch a French horror. My missus was working an evening shift so I downloaded it and watched it on a laptop with headphones. I was mesmerised for the entirety but blooming hell it gave me the heebie jeebies.

They re-made it for American audience but its a poor imitation.
