The Dems wailed when Comey mistreated HRC and now they're wailing because he gets canned (for good cause). You cannot please some people.
Comey made very questionable decisions around the Clinton email probe, but it is important to maintain the independence of the Justice Department and FBI. Thus, firing Comey at this time raises suspicions. Sessions and Trump can order the investigations stopped. It is very unlikely that Russian meddling had much influence on the last election. It is concerning that foreign operatives have compromised so much of our intelligence and political agencies. It is also very concerning that criminals are able to hack so many businesses and agencies. This is not the time to be dialing back investigations. Cyber security is the great arms race of our time.

It may well be that Comey's firing is really about the lack of confidence about his judgment that is noted in Trump's letter. However, many are concerned about the appearances.

Hilarious,

Quote:
President Donald Trump weighed firing his FBI director for more than a week. When he finally pulled the trigger Tuesday afternoon, he didn't call James Comey. He sent his longtime private security guard to deliver the termination letter in a manila folder to FBI headquarters.
I bet it was just a large A4 paper with the words "your fired!!!!" written on it.

The your is misspelled purposefully, because Trump.

Even more hilarious:

Quote:
He repeatedly asked aides why the Russia investigation wouldn’t disappear and demanded they speak out for him. He would sometimes scream at television clips about the probe, one adviser said.

WTF, when did this happen:

Quote:
FBI director, who Trump had praised until recent weeks and even blew a kiss to during a January appearance.

And as the talking heads in the media and on Twitter scream about how this is an act of dictatorial authority, proving guilt, I think it's just a poorly thought out act of stupidity by a very stupid man.

All I will say is desperation will cause some to make poor decisions, especially those who were incompetent in the first place.

Default WTF????????

In the middle of accusations of Russian interference and collusion, American media outlets had to ask the Russian Foreign Ministry for photos of a U.S. President in the Oval Office because American news photographers were banned.

So, America: feeling "great" yet?

Default I'll make the book on this one!

Wow! The acting FBI Director contradicts Trump-bunker on everything except the day of the week!

How soon before he's fired? Anyone?

I agree that the actual impact of any Russian meddling was insignificant. I do think it did widen the divisions within our political spectrum though, and ultimately made compromises that much harder to find and achieve. If that was it's only result, Mr. Putin is probably quite satisfied. As for the espionage, we do it, as does every other nation in one form or another, no surprises there.

The thing that concerns me most, is not the meddling or attempted meddling on the part of a foreign government, but that any candidate or members of their staff would collude with a foreign government to help them win an election.

To me, that smells of treason.

Trump is just a conceited blowhard who doesn't realize his current actions make his past actions seem worse than they actually were. I don't think he has the ability to tone it down.

I still prefer him to Hillary.

McCabe has a target but its probably because he is already under investigation by the FBI Inspector General since he ran the investigation into Hillary's toilet server but didn't bother to mention that his wife got a $675,000 gift from Hillary and Terry McAuliffe in order to run as a democrat for the Va state senate.

Default Priming the pump.

Trump the chump...the gift that goes on giving.
Did Trump really invent the term 'prime the pump'?
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39889627
Transcript from the Economist interview.
"Another part of your overall plan, the tax reform plan. Is it OK if that tax plan increases the deficit? Ronald Reagan’s tax reform didn’t.
Well, it actually did. But, but it’s called priming the pump........

Mr Mnuchin: Correct.

President Trump: That all goes into tax reduction. Tremendous savings.

But beyond that it’s OK if the tax plan increases the deficit?
It is OK, because it won’t increase it for long. You may have two years where you’ll…you understand the expression “prime the pump”?

Yes.
We have to prime the pump.

It’s very Keynesian.
We’re the highest-taxed nation in the world. Have you heard that expression before, for this particular type of an event?

Priming the pump?
Yeah, have you heard it?

Yes.
Have you heard that expression used before? Because I haven’t heard it. I mean, I just…I came up with it a couple of days ago and I thought it was good. It’s what you have to do.

It’s…
Yeah, what you have to do is you have to put something in before you can get something out."

Whether or not there is anything to the collusion issue, it is the Trump camps inability to see how it all looks that is the most astonishing. Trump praises Putin and claims Russia is not in Crimea. Putin says publicly he wants Trump to win and his propaganda machine starts Trump boosting in Russia. All the while Trump doesn't get why this is alarming.

So, he "jokes" about Russian Intelligence hacking Hilary and asks them to produce the evidence he can use to sink her. Dismisses, or should I say denies, reports (somehow) that Russia is really interfering. Then he lies and frustrates the investigation (in more ways than I have time to describe) fires a non-political official responsible for the investigation, claims the investigation is now over, and then immediately welcomes known Russian spooks to the Oval Office, all without slightest concern about the perception of the public and the world. This is the most alarming about this affair.

It's like a married guy who repeatedly denies infidelity being baffled by his wife's reaction when he runs off for a "working" weekend with his secretary.
