Good game for Liverpool against Man Utd, at least this time they actually looked like they wanted to play instead proverbially "parking the bus" as they did at Anfield last year. We could have, and I reckon should have, beaten them as we outplayed and outran them in the first half BUT the luck of Mourinho struck again and that walking ego Ibrahimovich had to spoil the party but I'd have taken a draw anytime under the circumstances. Yet another full week coming with Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup replay and then Saturday against Swansea but both are HOME games so the crowd should be able to lift us should we need it.

I am sure Liverpool would have taken the draw before the game as it was being played at OT. However I think they will tonight feel it was 2 points dropped rather than 1 point gained. United could also have been down to 10 men on another day with Pogba auditioning for the WWE during the first half with Henderson.

Good goal by Andy Carroll, must be one of his best, definitely in the top five hundred. |

Radar .... under .... stay. I've always believed that the fans know best. Even before the click-bait of opinionated journos using social media to get fans to visit their newspaper websites {and advertising} I'd always listen and follow fan's opinions ~ rather than cocaine-snorting-freebie-handout-seeking-trough-guzzling-ink media "opinion makers" Fan's opinions in person, I mean, at matches in 'foreign' pubs, with Away or Home fans, they always have a finger closer to the pulse than armchair media pundits who concentrate on the "interesting" personalities and bigger clubs. Rather than the footie. Last year I was disappointed when Spus blew up on the run-in, but ecstatic when the Foxes prevailed. The basic fan, at any club, beyond their partisanship, is fairer and much more acute about ALL footie than the snorters when it comes to 'other' clubs. imo. Now that Pep has thrown in the towel for the Title...yes, and it's January still.... ..... they may realise that Spurs is up there and switch their clickbait enticements. Hope not though. Last season, Ranieiri hardly got a paragraph until April, it was still Wenger et al.... |

Spurs are currently, imo, the best side here, although the injury to Vertomghen, if serious, could be a dent in MP plans. City away this weekend and all they can do is pass, pass, pass. Spurs should cause them more problems than Everton. As for pundits, they just go with the flow. The so called knowalls were claiming if Costa takes the Chinese money Chelsea cannot win the title without his goals, little did they know................ Under the radar, probably the best place to be. Last edited by victor meldrew; January 16th, 2017 at 09:40 AM.. |

A couple of interesting stories this morning.
I did hear that the Chinese wanted to introduce a salary cap as they felt money was being flittered away needlessly but It would appear the Chinese are taking the first step to reduce the number of overseas players. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38648489 This could prove interesting if it ever sees the light of day. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38650163 |

Believe it when it happens - goal line technology is a case in point of how quickly they move to appease the fans
Football has been run by publicity seeking whores for decades imho The more controversy = more publicity = bigger TV deals etc etc If its retrospective punishment you want make it from the team not the player You cheat to win or draw a game you lose the points gained. I can imagine in an end of season dog fight at either end of the table or a 1 off final a player isnt going to fear a 3 match retrospective ban if it means his team wins the title or avoids relegation. That teams shouldnt be able to surround the Ref and harass them is a long overdue change that should be implemented immediately - not in 15 years time after 14 committees have dithered over it like goal line technology. |

It'll probably be a strange week for Scottish newspapers this week since presumably they will have to find something to replace the annual 'Things that have happened since Hibs won the Scottish Cup' articles.

Doesnt want to be a squad player at a top 6 club or
the money and length of contract too much to say no too? West Ham have signed Southampton captain Jose Fonte for £8m on a two-and-a-half-year deal. The 33-year-old Portugal centre-back - who spent seven years at Southampton - made a transfer request with 18 months left to run on his Saints deal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38694821 |

OM have stated they will not be signing the dauphin this month, so it looks like we could be stuck with Mr Grumpy unless another French club steps in.
Typical of the monkeys to sign old and cheap, should have sold Collins and kept Tomkins, twats. Ayew apparently has contracted malaria and is doubt full for tomorrow's clash with Mali in the ACON. |
