Sometimes images get reported as copyright violations, so the host removes them. They do not always remove every image, but I'm pretty sure that they most likely remove the reported images.

Sometimes these bans just happen because cash posters make fake DMCA takedown notices about their competition. Imagehosts will not routinely verify such requests as genuine.

..and you do not need metadata to identify pics, just compare certain hash values. Although I imagine that this sort of image identification is very vulnerable to picture editing.

Imagebam have been banning random pics like that for quite a few years

I suspect its only going to get worse with the full HD pic set uploads becoming the norm.

Some are no doubt via fake dmcas but others would be random images found via google reported by lazy copyright snoops who do it on volume - these snoops do dmca notices for sites that closed down eons ago...

Then you have the copyright owners targetting key things like the main cover of a set

No solution except to up the banned to another host as i regularly had to when upping small sample galleries to imagebam - most of these one off banned pics were on numerous tgps.

Imagevenue seemed to be totally off the radar with these banned images even covers

I think it actually works out better as using 2 hosts will at least give a post a chance of not ending up completely blank when a hack occurs or a host goes offline.

Now that i think of it there are a few sites popping up that are offering just 1 pic from a set

like porn picture .org and no doubt other illegal / non affiliated sites are mimicking this

Personally, I feel that if HD pics are creating that much of a nuisance and problem then HD pics should be the ones being banned, and lets go back to analog, or whatever they are called. It wouldn't bother me in the least to view pics with a bit of "grit" to them. I've been doing so for countless years! Personally I feel they are more genuine and authentic looking.

Its not so much that the the image full set postings are an issue but they do expose us imagehost uploaders to banned images more so than if the sets were predominantly all in a filehost link as they once were.

Its just something you deal with

Theres no way to stop the one pic usage thats all over the net

To use an analogy its like trying to crack down on illegal bookmakers

For the first time I have seen the use of img.yt on our site.It´s used on various other forums,but I have never encountered it here.
Is it ok?
If I click on a pic,you´ll first have to pass at least one more obstacle to find your pic,and I don´t know if there´s a gallery/download option at the end.

Maybe it´s ok to use,but do we need more pop-up,extra click hosts,we already have a fair bit of hosts to use as it is.

I agree, there are some members using image hosts in which you first need to click this and that before being taken to the pic or the pic opens. The forum should require members to use only image hosts which are simple and easy to navigate, and which take you directly to the pic. It takes me less effort signing into the forum than it does trying to view some member's pics/posts!
I would also mention that there are instances where the poster/member provides and you must enter a password to gain entry to the post!
