I feel that the reason there are now so many remakes of films is that writers are beginning to run out of ideas. It is the same with t.v. shows. They are all so dull now. I think both movies and t.v. will become obsolete as a form of entertainment in the next 50 years.

I have no problem with reboots as I am guilty of for all intents & purposes wanting more of the same or at least more of a concept or more films out of certain franchises.
But not bloody remakes, give us a new damn story.

Nightmare is a good example. I absolutely want more of that franchise & I was totally on board with Haley as Kruger but it just wasn't bloody new or interesting enough. It needed a new story & characters.

Agreed. TIH is damn underrated.

It'd say the 2009 Friday the 13th was a solid reboot & should have gotten a sequel soon after.

I think it's a lack of original ideas. Also the fact that remakes/reboots are so watered down to apparently appeal to "a wider audience", movies are basically becoming cash cows.....

I think its a lack of original ideas , and also the creativity has got ' lazy ' -
now that the USA Super Hero Films thing has nose-dived
( law of diminishing returns etc ) -

now if Hollywood had any sense , make something that's British and above all still topical and relevant to the times we live in .. Strontium Dog ( John Wagner )
