The Pantera Thread (Great or Pan-terrible?)
I would like to start a new thread about Pantera, the metal band who started out as hair/glam metal in the 1980s and became more well-known as thrash/groove metal in the 1990s. They have had controversy surround their works, from thrash purists who are anti-glam calling them "Pan-terrible" due to their previous style of 1980s music, to singer Phil Anselmo getting into trouble by giving the Hitler salute and yelling "white power" while drunk on white wine. There was the tragedy of former Pantera member Dimebag Darrell getting killed at a Columbus, Ohio Damageplan concert in the early 2000s, which many people still remember.
How many of you liked Pantera in the '90s when you were in high school? And how many of us even knew about Pantera in the '80s when they were hair metal? Do you think they are terrible, great, or just okay as musicians? Please respond to this thread at your next convenience. |
