I was awakened at 4am this morn by me! My snoring woke me. Sounded like a pig you can't win.

How Do You sleep .
On a bed of nails.
I find it helps prepare me for the coming day.

Been advised to take some herbal stuff from HollandandWimpey. Been told by the third night it should start to work.
Well I am on the seventh night tonight but for the past six it has been as useful as twenty alarm clocks set for every five minutes. Tried and trusted method tonight. Where's that can?? |

My new sleep pattern is go to bed around 11.00 sleep to 4.30 get up and go for a pee back to bed sleep to 8.30.
I hate getting up for a pee, even though I don't drink before bed.

Yeah, I've been having peaks and troughs lately as well. I won't be able to sleep one night, and then next be so tired I sleep right through. I'm sure it's stress.

Stress is a common cause. I suffer with depression and that doesn't help either.

I've had chronic sleep problems since the mid-90s when one neighbour installed an over-sensitive security light that would come on repeatedly in the night startling me awake, and a new neighbour moved in who was prodigiously noisy even in the small hours. Add to that my caring for my dad in his last year as he slowly died of liver cancer and needed care and attention at all hours, and I became sensitised to the slightest disturbance.
From around 2005 I woke up after four hours sleep no matter what and couldn't get back to sleep again, which left me feeling tired throughout the day, sometimes dangerously so, so I became afraid to drive. Since the beginning of Summer 2013, by a mixture of "mindfulness of breathing" meditation, keeping the bedroom as cool as possible, and not going to bed until I'm on the very cusp of falling asleep, I've largely managed to get a good six to eight hours sleep, although I still often wake up four hours after first hitting the pillow, and sometimes remain awake for an hour or so before falling back to sleep again. The breathing meditation usually does the job.

It is true that going to bed when the eyes start to droop works. But if you have work in the morn you want 8 hours sleep. It's a pain.
