Another unnecessary reboot and this time he is Mexican instead of White.

Magnum P.I.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7942796/

Can't have a White Private Investigator, it's not politically correct and it may be perceived as racist.

Plus if he was White, in today's day and time, a large TV audience demographic will be alienated.

Oh and Higgins is a woman and there is an Asian police detective this time around.

Captain Marvel's trailer is here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1BCujX3pw8

This is pretty much exactly the tone & style I was hoping for. Her mask looks shockingly good, much better then in the comics actually.

Why is it taking Cameron so long to make Avatar 2?

Supposedly he is making Avatar 2 and 3 and 4 for almost 10 years now and by the time they are released, it will be 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025, by the tentative schedule right now - if no one dies before then.

Also why is True Lies and The Abyss not on Blu-Ray?

Cameron is such a champion of the newest latest state of the art video technology and yet 2 of his biggest movies ever are not on Blu-Ray.

He has been promising them forever.

We are now on 4K and beyond. By the time those 2 films are on Blu-Ray, people will have moved on like they moved away from VHS to DVD and then from DVD to Blu-Ray.

The god like Cary Joji Fukunaga (true detective s1, beast of no nation) will direct Bond 25.

They went from Danny Boyle to this guy.

That tells me Broccoli and Wilson want to be the only ones with creative input so they did anything possible to make it difficult for Boyle so he would quit.

So they picked this Fukunaga guy, a small time director with very minimal qualification so he can be a YES man and do exactly what Broccoli and Wilson want.

Skyfall and Spectre and Quantum of Solace, I don't care how many gamillions they earned combined and how many records they broke in the James Bond Films Franchise history were just very marginal.

I like Craig but his Bond films after Casino Royale were just not very good.

Heck!!

Even Brosnan had 2 decent Bond films before it all went downhill for him with The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

Well I guess his guy is a better choice than the other director the Bond producers were looking at:

a lady named S.J. Clarkson who has no experience directing movies. She has only done TV series episode and she has been hired to direct the next Star Trek film.

With a female director, Star Trek will truly gone where no man has one before.

As long as she leaves her personal social justice warrior political agenda and views and feminist interpretation out of the screenplay and movie, it should be okay.

I wouldn't mind seeing Quentin Tarantino given a chance with Bond. My favourite past Bond movies were Dr No, You Only Live Twice, OHMSS, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale and Spectre. Many of the others were simply not very good. Apparently there has been some recent discussion on re-makes and OHMSS is top of the list. I really liked this film and it wouldn't be difficult to bring the story right up to date.

Made in the style of "Where Eagles Dare" might be entertaining :-)

I get your concerns about a "yes man" especially with the rumor that Boyle left because they wanted to kill off this incarnation of Bond.
But True Detective s1 might be one of the highest praised & critically acclaimed shows in recent memory besides Breaking Bad, that is far from "minimal qualification". It was magnificent.

Also There was nothing bad about The World is not Enough besides Denise Richards. It was better then Tomorrow Never Dies.

To be honest, I found the trailer underwhelming.
