Wade Nichols(October 28, 1946-January 28, 1985)was a superb straight for pay actor in the best adult films of the late 70s, including Take Off & Maraschino Cherry. Nichols (aka Dennis Parker) was also the most successful crossover star- recording an album(he also sang)for Casablanca ,the label that had that time's two biggest acts, Donna Summer& Kiss under contract. Though his album of dance music certainly wasn't in the league of Summer's work, the great track from the album, Like an Eagle continues to grow as a cult song. Check out Youtube for endless remixes of the song. And Wade also starred on the soap opera Edge of Night. He was a series regular. After learning he had contacted AIDS, he took his Life at age 38. Though homosexual, Nichols appeared in only a few gay loops,the famous Boynapped(1975)with Jamie Gillis. Another gay film Wade appeared in Manhole(aka Manhold),also with Gillis, was considered the biggest gay film of it's time,the first to be photographed in 35 mm, and 3D. Strangely it has been forgotten and doesn't appear on Nichols and Gillis resumes on IAFD. I have included 2 ads from the film in this post to show it did exist.
