Hammer / A Clockwork Orange index.
Curiously a lot of Hammer actresses had a role in "A Clockwork Orange".
Not all were famous, not all were "beauties" but that's funny & significant to the particular history of Hammer & British productions. In the same vein as our Hammer/Playboy, here's a in progress index with : [name eventually linked to the proper thread] - [link(s) to post(s) in this thread] - [Hammer film(s)]. All suggestions are welcome. Adrienne Corri. Post. Gillian Hills. Post Jan Adair. Post Katya Wyeth. Post. Miriam Karlin. Sheila Raynor. Shirley Jaffe. Post Virginia Wetherell. Post Vivienne Chandler. Judy Matheson.
Judy Matheson dies twice in Hammer movies. In "Lust For A Vampire", as one of the gorgeous girls of the school, she's seduced and killed by Yutte Stensgaard. In "Twins Of Evil", she's the innocent woodman's daughter burned by The Puritan Company. Terrible fate(s).. She did then a few appearances in genre movies (Crucible Of Terror, 71 or The Flesh And Blood Show, 72) but curiously and same as Kathya Wyeth, got a busty role in the sexy comedy "Confessions Of A Window Cleaner". Her forgotten small thread.

Forum - a long shot. I am looking for an id for the cast and episode title of what I think was a Hammer House of Horror or Hammer House of Mystery & Suspense tv programme. The scene that haunts me has a young woman, locked and terrified inside her house, tying the fingers of a man (assailant?) placing his hand through the letterbox and setting fire to them. Would love to clear my foggy recollection...

Kate O'Mara.
The Vampire Lovers, 1970. Voluptuous Kate O'Mara is the French governess Madame Perrodon. A great role & interpretation. Her thread.

Kate O'Mara. 2.
The Horror Of Frankenstein (Jimmy Sangster, 1970). Co-star of the movie, as Alys, with Veronica Carlson. She was also casted for Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde but Martine Beswicke got the role coz her stronger facial resemblance to Ralph Bates.

Virginia Wetherell.
Demons Of The Mind, Peter Sykes (1972).. Far to be the best Hammer movies, but with real beauties. Virginia Wetherell was already a killed prostitute in "Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde", And she even was married to Dr Jekyll, Ralph Bates, who died of cancer in 1991. Ms. Wetherell currently runs a cancer fund in her husband's name. Here she's an innocent girl cheated, killed and covered in roses by the pervert son of a degenerated family. Her "strip-tease" scene is one of the best filmed of this very unequal movie. Captivating... Her very small thread on VEF. Stills : Virginia Wetherell, who also played in Dr Who (as Dyoni), is part of our Hammer / A Clockwork Orange Index. The hieratic & sculptural "stage actress" :

Gillian Hills.
Demons Of The Mind (1972). Very pretty Gillian Hills got the main role of the movie. "She plays another in the long line of that old Hammer standby, the woman who begins the films in a state of mental disarray [...] and spends the rest of it in a (forcibly) drug-induced stupor. She inherited the role from Marianne Faithfull, who could not take the job due to her own drug-induced stupor". Gillian Hills, discovered by French director Roger Vadim, who wanted to make her the "British Brigitte Bardot", started at 16 old her short but dense actress career. She had, mainly in France, a real but brief success as "yé-yé" singer. And she's "Sonietta" in a funny high-speed scene of The Clockwork Orange. Stills :
