Due to his age I have been expecting it but still hate to hear about it. I'm currently in the process of actually re-watching the Wyatt Earp series and just coming up on the end of season 2. For any fans who haven't seen them it might be worth one's trouble to try to search out the two Paradise episodes he appeared in as Wyatt. The first was actually a two hour season premiere and also co-starred the late great Gene Barry reprising his role as Bat Masterson as well. The character of Bat appeared on Wyatt's show but was played by a different actor since Gene was playing the role on another network at the time and I always thought it was great to see the two actually together as they should have been. I have also come to notice that ol' Wyatt probably does more clubbing the bad guys over the head as he does actually just shooting them.

I also really enjoyed the series from the mid-seventies "Search" where he played Hugh Lockwood, designated as "Probe One". Probes were outfitted with various electronic implants including a button-sized "scanner" that contained a miniaturized video camera, microphone and transmitter linked to a team of technicians and experts who constantly monitored the Probe's surroundings, actions and vital signs. They were able to supply the Probe agents with encyclopedic information automatically on any subject. But perhaps with the computer technology, ear-jacks and miniature cameras that the agents used it was, as some now say, just about thirty years or more ahead of its time and therefore perhaps to confusing to some viewers of that time period. Hugh starred in about a third of the series with the other episodes featuring either Tony Franciosa or Doug McClure. The constant link was the technicians of Probe Control led by C.R. Cameron expertly played by Burgess Meredith.

Another one I was expecting but hadn't heard about yet. With "Choo Choo" gone I believe that leaves only one of the original voices of T.C.'s gang still with us. That being Leo De Lyon who did the voices of "Spook" and "Brain".

As someone else mentioned a lot of greats already gone this year and just two thirds of the year over.

RIP Science and health teacher Lynsey Haycock from Sheffield who died aged 41. She passed away from medical complications the day after she fell and broke her leg whilst putting a display up in the classroom prior to the new term.

I imagine it will be tough for her pupils to go back to school after hearing the news as well as her fellow teachers.

Maurice Gosfield was Benny the Ball, Arnold Stang was the original Top Cat(or Boss Cat as known here). Maurice was also Dwayne Doberman in 'The Phil Silvers Show aka Bilko' and Top Cat was based on Sgt Bilko who ran loads of gambling rackets at an army base. Other voices from cartoons but also appeared in Bilko were Allan Melvin as Cpl Henshaw(Magilla Gorilla), Joe E Ross as Sgt Ritzik (Butch in Hair Bear Bunch) Kaplan also did the voice of Skids in CB Bears Show(cartoon)

John Lennon and Yoko Ono marched in rallies to protest their guilty verdict

Peter Kingston, who worked as a cartoonist on the Oz, said his life would have "taken a very different course without Neville".
He said Neville was an "Absolutely adorable person, adorable human being, and very concerned about the world and the environment, all the good things," he said.

A sad day.

A magazine I used to buy, which I used to have to sneak into the house as I doubt my parents would have allowed me to read in my last two years at school. It has recently become available on line.

Thank you for all the memories.

God Bless

Just learned of the passing of one of my childhood heroes, the Cricketer Ken Higgs. I used to do an impression of him bowling by sticking my backside out while running in.

RIP.

That kind of thing is very hard to get your head around. People shouldn't die of broken legs.
