This is how markets are shaped, if your fantasy was true we'd all be drinking Coke laced with cocaine AND alcohol AND methamphetamines by now since in a world without judgement the masses would blindly purchase whatever offered the most pleasure, and the politicians would take bribes for their own pleasure and let it all happen.

You want to remove ALL temptation and force people to be "good", this is not how it is done, except in autocracies.

The bigger picture is the company survives and the employees keep a job, keep their kids fed, add to the wider community, get funds for research into newer technology ........ Plus make money for shareholders, there's always a bigger picture than simplistic anti capitalistic horse shit views.

I've been working 34 years, 22 in auto industry, 10 in brick making and 18 months in a bullshit valet parking job, the one thing I leaned in all my years is those with leftist views across all 3 jobs were generally lazier than those on the right and came up with any excuse not to work, generally speaking.

If our environement is near to collapse, that's clearly because of unregulated markets.
We don't pay the real price of oil, coal or fossile fuel.

Prices of commodities (and energy) are lies and only are regulated by very old-fashion greedy people.

So explain me why it's illegal to sell cocaine in your country ?
Scientific studies have shown that sugar is far more addictive than cocaine.
Societies pay billion because of overnutrition and diabets.

So why politicians allow people to sell useless diabet in bottle and not cocaine ?

Now what I was going to expand on,
Today, as promised I went to my hometown to help my Mum a bit, took her into town for some Christmas shopping for gifts for her grandkids, my nieces and nephews. Had a great day,

On the way back to Mums, she asked if we could stop and buy a Christmas tree and help her decorate it, so I did, the good son I am

Then something happened, hadn't seen this thing since I was about 10, 40 years ago and will never forget the time I saw it way back then and never forget it. At the bottom of the box with all the decorations is a small box containing the star one places on top of the tree, there's 2 in there, 1 we always use and one that was never used, The one that was never used Mum bought by accident 40 years ago but never discarded it, It's a golden yellow color, when Dad saw that star way back then he immediately went nuts and said there will never be a yellow or red star on any tree in our house as long as he's alive , referring to Communism, such is the absolute hatred we have for Communism in the E family

Driving home from Mums I still had a bit of a laugh at that star and Dads anger at it Then I remembered this thread, thought to myself what a great day I had and then wondered what kind of day I would have had if I lived in a damn Commie state

I'd have,
Woken and had a pitiful rationed breakfast.
Gone to work and say it was in my trade as an electrician and that is potentially life threatening yet got paid the same as a brain surgeon or garbage collector.
Come home, had a crappy dinner and then have nothing to do, no computer, no TV, no golf, no nothing but books to read on why my life should be so damn dull, but I'd accept it as I'd know no different but dullness
Then continue the same dreary dullness the next day not knowing any better.

I have a whole bag of Reeses Cups and a partial bag of Hershey bars on my kitchen counter left over from Halloween. I eat one a day, usually with a cup of coffee,. If things were as you say, I would have gobbled all that stuff up by November 3 at the latest, since that evil candy would have forced me to eat it all in short order.

But since your views are fantasy and I possess personal dietary discipline, that didn't happen.

If while walking through a Swiss town you notice the Swiss chocolates crowding up against the candy shop windows and gesturing to you and singing sweet choruses of "Eat me! Eat me!" I suggest you seek professional help immediately.
