Tree already up in local small Asda at 09:05 this morning November 5th. Far too early!

Food is usually the first thing that appears and then decorations and trees but in the world of retail things are prepared months in advance and they have to be prepared for it. Switching on the Christmas lights in London is thankfully moved to later in the month but this is another tradition that needs reining in because it puts undue pressure on families to prepare too early. What really annoys me are those people who say "oh yes, we've done all our shopping in August!" Online shopping is extremely popular these days so you can shop whenever and for whatever you want. The High Street won't suffer too badly and the big shopping centres will not doubt plead poverty but the tills will be ringing soon enough.

So let's see now-the mother doesn't approve of nativity plays-the child was not forced to attend-but offered an alternative by the school-but the precious wee thing was 'upset' so the self righteous bitch not only kept him away from school-but made a song and dance to the media about it...

I'm afraid I find myself in complete agreement with her. I don't mind truthful facts about a a jolly fat chap in a redsuit delivering presents to boys and girls all over the world in one night, but I draw the line at your invisible friend in the sky getting strung up on a cross for my sins.
