I have the obligation to disprove my own words, when I tried to argue the use of doubles in the legendary scene from Jean March in "The Lover", believing in refuting Ms.March.

I will not argue about whether she was already an adult in the shooting, because as we all know, the filming of scenes not follow a temporal order, since that corresponds to assembly work. Any 'delicate' scene might be expected to come of age.

After detective work (nobody has bothered), a tiny detail that has gone unnoticed for all the world, I can assure the 99.9% that scene, 'that could belong to a double for being back', is starring Ms.March


Evidence :

We look the back of Ms. March in scenes from other movies.
Here we have a shower scene in "Provocateur" where you can see a point (mole) on her back.

To ensure that she actually has a mole on her back, we see another scene in "The Stone Merchant", which leaves no room for doubt.

Also in "Color of Night", this mole is diffused into the water, but can be seen in the shower.

Now we see the back of an alleged body double in "The Lover", and .... OMG! Is her mole, in the same place ...

I can't imagine a makeup artist painting a mole on the back of a body double, to simulate is the actress who is intended to be, when this detail has gone unnoticed by everyone all this time, simply because no one had noticed ever that Jane has a tiny mole on her back.
Is "too much" detail ... neither Mr. Kubrick was so careful !
But only a HD allows us to appreciate this now.
