Since 1931 here in Victoria, The Royal Childrens Hospital has held an appeal for fundraising.

It pretty much goes all year with Pubs, Clubs, Stores and so on that might have tin on a counter for customers to donate change.

Good Friday every year is the main day with an all day telethon, people at intersections rattling tins for motorist to add change, clubs having events and rallies, I think churches donate whatever is collected in offering plates during Good Friday Masses, all that type of thing, a real statewide event

Today, as for most other years the record has been smashed

Victorians have set a new record for the Good Friday Appeal with $18,175,467 raised for Royal Children's Hospital.

It may surprise you to learn that Brits also have a distaste for pompous self-righteousness in no matter what language it is spoken, and that does include English in any form.

I went down the marina today in my Austin Ambassador y reg and it seems someone's stolen my boat from its mooring.
You can't miss it cos its painted pink.

This is a long shot but has anybody here seen it ?
