But it seems to me that your quote pushes people to always live in fear and to behave maliciousely.

'Optimism is the result of a lack of information and life experience. Accompanied by the simultaneous failure to assess the situation correctly, triggered by the constant abuse of drugs, alcohol (also a drug) or folk wisdom (also a drug). Do not be an optimist, become a realist. For optimists, the glass is always half full. For pessimists, the glass is always half empty. Realists see no need to wash the dirty dishes of other people since we have electric dishwashers.' - Abraham Lincoln, About the Eradication of the Slave Mentality

The marvelous British sense of humor.

10 years ago I was validating my ticket to travel from England to Germany.
In the queue I spoke few words with an American tourist who told me: "Even in the USA we don't get such cheap price as Ryanair ones." He told me that he paid something like 19 $ to travel from England to Spain... maybe cheaper. Honestly speaking... an irrational cheap price.

I never used Ryanair, because they landed too far from my area. I only used Easyjet.

Default Socrates and the traveller.

I'm pretty sure I have posted this little story before - but I have always found it a helpful observation. It is in essence saying that life greets you as you greet it - and I have often found that to be true.

We were told the story at the end of every term at my school to remind us.

Default LITANY AGAINST FEAR

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear - From Frank Herbert's Dune Book Series
