a service like FF would shoot themselves in the foot, if they would spread malware this way. a downloadmanager isn't a bad thing at all if it grants continuation of broken downloads, but i really hate to have separate DLMs for each host, so i would never download one.
jdownloader or manual DL is my choice. (and imho no one needs a tutorial how to unselect an option. just read the website and do what's necessary, even if i agree that this option should be better unchecked by default)

Tried the first one as an anonymous user - got same message
Tried second one as a free registered user - account I never use - got access immediately Would seem they give very little access to anonymous downloaders Which is backed up by the fact you cant upload anonymously with them at all |

Problem downloading from Filefactory
Morning
I have been trying to download the latest posts from the f1ona cooper thread. The poster has used filefactory as the host. However I can't download them as the page just hangs. I have tried it on Chrome (my default) IE and Firefox. Any ideas (I have cleared by history etc) |

are you UNchecking their 'File Manager' ?
FF work much better in standard download otherwise you just get a short exe. file downloaded that requires further un necessary crap |

I'm downloading a 2 part dawn phoenix file with no issues on firefox in Australia
I did try and access their support centre and got page timed out so their may be issues Hard to tell If a host seems inaccessible try either of the first 2 links in this thread Can tell you instantly wether your alone with an issue http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...0&postcount=24 Posting a link to 1 file via the number of the post top right for others to test is smart as sometimes links are corrupted or individual servers are the problem. For what ever reason i've always found signing in as a free registered user seems to bring more joy than downloading as a free anonymous guest especially with file factory as their policies are set up not in favour of anonymous usage. Which leads to the other possibility if theirs a finite amount of bandwidth for the anonymous users in your area and the premium users are downloading heavily their might not be any left. |

I'm using Chrome & am able to access that page OK, could it be your internet provider has blocked FileFactory?

Only problem with upgrading to premium is that might not be the cause of the issue
I can think of at least half a dozen main reasons links hang and they have nothing to do with being a free user Best example - the filesonic IP issue - never resolved by anything but setting up your own VPN - virtual private network - to bypass the blockage. Even then if your router / modem is the cause of the problem the issue will remain unresolved You only resolve problems like this through the process of elimination Last edited by buttsie; May 26th, 2013 at 01:21 AM..
