This GOOGLE and GETTY reminds me of AOL !!
Remember them? If you had an AOL internet access account (dial up) and you get on the internet using the AOL browser, whenever you searched for anything, photos, websites, anything, you get shit results and just a handful of them. Granted back the in the mid to late 90's, search engines were still not very good. But I still remember being at a co-worker house and he was searching for information on the 1997 movie L. A. Confidential, using his AOL browser of course, with his computer connected online with AOL dial up. He got shit results. So I told him to use the one of the best search engine of the time: Altavista. Oh he got 1000's of results. He was in heaven. This was about a year before the next best search engine came online and killed Altavista: Yahoo and not long after that, by a few months, GOOGLE. I didn't see him at work for a couple of day. Now here's some reminiscing about Altavista: https://digital.com/about/altavista/ |

Alternatives to Google.
Two search engines I use areIf we're going to mention older search engines, I recall that the first search engine which found my pages back in the 20th Century was Hotbot.
