Default Pop ups & Adware

I was just online with the "Porndude dot com" located in the upper left corner of this page, and was looking at Free adult image hosting page. And clicked on "Dumppix" and immediately had a pop up and a staement saying my computer has a virus and I must call this number and if I close this window that my computer will be taken over. I am using MS windows 10 and Firefox version 46 So with this in mind be care full online.

I would personally avoid any of the sites on "Theporndude" and further I would recommend that all members download a good adblocker.I Myself,Use Adblocker Plus.

Good advice, I was almost certain that it might have been ransom ware attack.

I get several of those notifications varying from infected virus warnings to warning me about the need for a technician with a telephone number to call. You pick them up from certain websites and they are not spawn from adware or malware. They will open an entire webpage and often it will catch your eye in one of your windows tabs (I usually have about ten open at once). Some of them you can close out as you normally would close any tab however some require the Control/Alt /Delete key commands to bring up your task manager to close out your browser entirely. They are actually less of a pain than the threats that would pretend that they had locked your computer when all you really needed to do was to log back into windows using another administrator account, run malware protection (such as malwarebytes) and then go on with your life as normal.

I use Ghostery and AdBlocker Plus as well and i always get the Shockwave Flash update from Firefox's web page as Adobe's download is always screwed up. I've never been to Theporndude.

I've had no issues at all since I started using Kaspersky Internet Security. And at $49.00 for a year, gee I spend more than that a month on coffee.

I use Kaspersky as well. I used to use various free programs but switched to Kaspersky when a virus got through. Worth paying the money IMO. I also use uBlock Origin which seems to be pretty good.

I'm using the same browser

Besides ad-block plus for ads

No script stops a lot of what it misses - pop-unders for example etc
but you need to learn how to use it - most of the times its right click screen
and allow website address - towards the top

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/fir...maone/?src=api

Short tutorial
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...pt#post2520918

Even with those 2 in play

The other thing to be wary of is your browsers PLUGINS
Even with automatic updates if the mozilla database doesnt know them
no warnings are raised - you need to check them manually

In particular adobes flash / shockwave - it continually becomes vulnerable and before the patch is created you end up with messages coming through - i have mine disabled / never activate when going through random sites.
