I always found Caramac too be too sickly, I never really liked them that much. However........

That's an entirely different matter. I could / can eat these 'til I'm sick, then I'd willingly start again! I love white chocolate!

A little story, but absolutely true.......

Many years ago, when I was still living at home, and christmas meant something, mum and dad and I celebrated it together, and there was always an array of 'goodies' on the table. Anyway, I bought a 5lb ( 2.26kg) tin of Quality Street, we didn't open them, they were for christmas.....

Anyway, my father being somewhat mischievous, said, 'Well we ought to at least try them, suppose someone came and we served them those and there was something wrong with them?' he said with a twinkle in his eye.
Well after a coupel of days looking at the tin, they were opened...... exit, one 5lb tin of Quality Street!
So seeing as it was his idea, he went out the next day and bought another tin....... Same result! Four days and 10 lbs of Quality Street later.... So mum goes out and buys a tin..... yep, you guessed it, they went the same way as the other 10lbs! To add further to the tale, someone gave me a 2lb box of Quality Street as a christmas prezzie !

In a little over a week, we managed to devour 17lbs ( 7.7kgs!),of Quality Street!

All thanks to my late dad saying, 'We ought to just try them......'

And in case you are wondering, no, none of us were fat!

BTW. That is a 5lb box in the picture, just another two and a half to go......

Great stuff lads, keep it up. My Dad loves Midget Gems and Fruit Pastilles but I don't like anything jelly, even the beans-must have been the jelly they made us eat at school. I saw a few months ago that Quality Street, Roses etc have reduced the number of chocolates in their tins, what a con no wonder they are charging a lower price-typical of Cadbury's now they have been taken over by Kraft and the size of chocolate bars in general have shrunk but not the prices.

I don't think we had bike sheds in those days, certainly not at primary school and most of the smoking was done in the toilets(as far as I know) or in a tunnel in the main playground-which was the caretaker's storage building. I didn't know a lot about sex back then-I thought DUREX was that paint the dog advertised! The sweets that most girls had were those necklace sorts with the edible 'gems'
