Top news item today....a lone knifeman attacks people in Paris. Thousands of people are scared and run away.
They wouldn't like London where there are knife attacks every day.

The president Macron praised the courage of police who shot him dead (I suppose he must have been hiding a bazooka up his jumper).

A knife and not even a fake suicide vest? It would be preferable to have taken him alive so he could rot in prison, like the scum who murdered Private Lee Rigby. But you can't have everything, and the French policeman who shot this man dead should sleep like a baby, bathed in the rosy glow of a worthwhile job well done.

I moved the conversation about Dr David Goodall's assisted suicide from the RIP thread to Things Noticeable This Week because:
  1. Not everyone wishes to express goodwill towards the Dear Departed and that doesn't suit the RIP thread.
  2. It is a perfectly reasonable discussion to have, the rights or wrongs or Dr Goodall's decision and actions; just not on RIP thread.
  3. It is something topical this week.

Please carry on.

Pte Rigby's killer has been moved to a secure mental hospital ar great cost to the Taxpayer. Frankly it would be better for all concerned if him and his co - murderer were left in the Cpls club of the Royal Fusileers.

Someone needs to explain the data protection concept to the Home Office.
I know of one US based web site (a fake money stock exchange game) that is blocking all IP addresses from Europe because of the requirements of GDPR. And the only "personal information" it keeps track of is the user's email for logging in.

I believe they tried to taser him first but missed and he was then shot three times as he took a run at one of the policemen while having the knife raised in his hand.

100% success on both sides then-he's achieved his desire for martyrdom and the French authorities have one less dangerous nutter to keep an eye on...the one we should feel sorry for is the unfortunate 29 year old victim and his/her family...

Last night we sat and watched the U17 European quarter final, this might seem incredible, but, they played football! They did not argue with the referee, they showed fantastic skills, they played flat out for the whole game, one player got a yellow card for an offence, he opened his hands as if to say that is a bit harsh, but not a word! Brilliant, you know what if the so called adult game goes to this style, it might be worth watching again!

Brilliant game by both teams thank you!

All-you-can-eat pizza festival apologises for lack of pizza
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-44112260

"Guests were promised "the opp"ortunity to sample unlimited amounts of pizza" by organisers Bellmonte Life.
The "high-end luxury lifestyle brand" blamed "overzealous appetites" as well as the broken oven for slow service."

Who'd have thought it, making stupid promises, having an oven break down and they blame the customers

What a bunch of prize knobs

He played for England, but couldn't speak English.

They are only 16 year olds, watch when they start getting big money and contracts. When they are coached by professionals that will change.
