Arrow Barrie Chase

Born: October 20, 1933 in New York City, New York, USA
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0153691/

Photos don't really do her justice, IMO.
Her main claim to fame was dancing with Fred Astaire in 4 TV specials in the 50's and 60's. I don't know if it was just because she was a more "modern" dancer, or the era, but she was much more overtly sexual in her dancing style than other ladies Fred danced with. Don't get me wrong, Ginger, Rita were very sexy at times, but it was just...different.
Only reason I know of her was from seeing her in an Astaire Documentary from the 80's and they showed her dancing with Fred on a TV special in 1958 ( in Color! ) and her long ponytail seemed quite unusual for that time. That got the attention of a then teenaged me. Then I saw her in the last special they did together (1968) she has short hair, a very short green dress on, and was bending at the waist...sadly, only from the side...but it got my....attention, let me tell ya!
She Did some acting, but mainly small roles as a dancer in films like It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World, and of all things, The Flight of the Phoenix (I didn't even remember a female in the film, clearly I need to check it out again, a dream) and the original Cape Fear.

Here are some pics I found, then some interesting clips of her dancing.

Ok, here she is in the flesh, moving, the best way to see her. First in the lame 1958 film, Mardi Gras (She does have a great name in the film, Torchy Larue!)
That's Sheree North, sitting with the guys, shamefully, they didn't have her wear anything remotely sexy.
Also, even though this just ran on Fox, the quality was really pretty poor.
Hints of butt cheek in a U.S. film from 1958??? Cool!

her part of a youtube clip(sadly, I couldn't find that amazing green dress there...and why aren't these specials available on DVD?)from that 1958 show.

from a 1966 special, found on youtube...Fred was....67!!! Quality is not as good on this one, compare to this Youtube link . Music really works well in both clips.

Just found this one, better all around, IMO, more Barrie on display, Fred is dancing like a man much younger than 65 or so...

someone has put up a lot since I last checked her out! By herself singing(kinda sorta) Son of a Preacher Man
