Any ass ripping of Trump should be printed/broad-casted after all this crap. This also has been slowly happening in the US since the 90's or further back than that. It's sicking. |

This really is outrageous conduct by over-zealous jobsworths. I certainly wouldn't be happy with my kids going to a school like this. I wonder who their local MP is? |

This happened a few miles away from where I live. The police, ambulance and fire crews all attended and the road, shops and other businesses were all closed. The "stand off" lasted for 11 hours but watch the seven second video and see just how high this little prick is standing. If they opened the window and pushed him off the worse he's gonna do is sprain his ankle. What a waste of resoures and public money. Teenager in stand-off with police after climbing onto ledge in Jaywick A TEENAGER was in a stand-off with police for almost 11 hours after climbing out of a window onto a ledge in Jaywick. The 17-year-old man had been stood on a first-floor ledge above the Tudor Parade shops in Marlowe Road from 10.30am. The area below him was cordoned off and police and paramedics were on the scene. A group of onlookers watched the incident unfold. One bystander said: "He was waving his arms around and shouting at people below. He tried to rip a satellite off the wall but failed." Chris Richards, from Frinton, witnessed the drama as he went to visit his daughter. He said: "He was throwing bits of plastic at people below from the ledge. "Police went up into the property behind him but he closed the window on them. "He threw a shoe down but apart from that he's just standing there. The police are just waiting him out." A police spokesman said: "Police attended a property in Tudor Parade, Jaywick at around 10am yesterday due to a report of concern for the safety of an occupant. "A man then climbed on the roof of the property. Officers had to negotiate with him to arrange for him to come down safely. "This happened shortly before 9pm. "A 17-year-old man from Jaywick was then arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in custody this morning. "Police would like to thank the local community in Jaywick for their assistance in dealing with this incident. "A local school provided some crash mats and local businesses help with ladders. Share article "A cordon was in place until the man came down from the roof." The man on the ledge climbed through a window to awaiting police at 8.45pm. http://www.clactonandfrintongazette....most_11_hours/ The comments on the papers website have been removed for this article but one of them said earlier that he was wanted by the police and he climbed out there to avoid being arrested. No idea whether that's true or not.

Time magazine correction: Evelyn Waugh was not a woman
http://time.com/4234719/college-text...emale-writers/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35667540 http://observer.com/2016/02/time-mag...emale-authors/ Now surely he is one of Britain's best known authors, this smacks of a rushed by the numbers filler job with little actual input from any academics or even an actual book reader.

I am quite astounded to read that cassette tapes are making a comeback-in the US at least they have been incredibly popular and I wonder when you will be able to get them here in the UK? I never thought tape would make a comeback but I knew that due to DJ's doing mixing and scratching that VINYL wouldn't die off completely-have you ever tried to 'scratch' a CD?(without actually scratching it in the sense of making a mark on it of course) It is however just my luck that whilst I still have a stand alone cassette player AND a double cassette facility on my stereo, I can't use the record player for vinyl records because for some reason my stylus has vanished!! Ah well at least I can play tapes and until a few years ago that also meant seeing my programs for the Spectrum computer on them too-until the computer gave up the ghost - but I do have a simulator on the PC so can play Spyhunter and other games on it. Ah, the good old days of a mix tape!

Nice photos in this article about the "re-launched" The Flying Scotsman:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...old-route.html A masterpiece of engineering, a work of art. Edit: The Loco in action, starts slow but keep watching. It's almost as good as the Claire King thread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RSxfB41xbM

I find it astonishing that some people have criticised Tim Peake (Britain's first astronaut) for having a bit of fun on board the space station. What they fail to realise is that it was Scott Kelly's brother Mark who sent a gorilla suit up for his birthday and probably thought it would be funny to 'chase' Tim through the ISS. Okay it is odd but if you are up in space for 6 months you have to do something else other than constant scientific experiments otherwise you'd go bad with the boredom. I think it's good to let off a bit of steam occasionally and obviously the experiments take precedent, but give the man a break. It is even funnier than normal because it is in zero gravity-even Benny Hill never did that! Judge for yourself:
