Considering your avatar, it is only appropriate that you do.

My serious answer to BB's question: I've always prefered a good strong vintage english cheddar. Nice and strong.

I'm not a fan of mouldy cheese. Edam I just don't get why it's so hard.

A milky mozzarella in sausage or meatball sandwiches and, of course, pizza. I also like a creamy swiss, longhorn, jack, a sharp cheddar....I love cheese.

When eating those "stinky" cheeses (that I love) avoid these wee buggers

Edam is a finger cheese to me, not a sandwich cheese. The Isle Of Man makes some great cheese. In fact through out these Islands we have some great cheese. Dairy Lee is NOT cheese, or those slices wrapped in plastic.

Casu Marzu. Or Spider Cheese Yummi.

No, just kidding. My favorite is Parmegiano Reggiano. Original stuff of course. Really pricey, but that's ok. Sometimes Old Amsterdam. And as a real Ossi (east german origin), original Hartzer Käse. Smells like a decent kebab fart. Try it with a little tomato paste (no ketchup !!!!!!!! ) and some fresh chopped thyme on oven-warm buns. To this a small glas of a good dry sherry. Port works to. (Beware, addictiveness !!!)

To my shame i must admit that i've never tried english or american cheese. What would be there recommended ?
