You know what I'm going to say, don't you?

... you didn't actually answer the question!

Why do you assume they are making parliamentary decisions? After all, at the 2012 meeting we are just talking about a junior minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government, and a minister without portfolio, plus two members of The Lords! Hardly the stuff of conspiracies!

They're only accountable to the public when performing in an official capacity. They're perfectly entitled to talk to other people in a private capacity.

Well, you know I'm German. I'm talking about :

Kurt Georg Kiesinger (Chancellor,CDU, former NSDAP member and former staff member of Joachim von Ribbentrop)
Helmut Schmitt (Chancellor,SPD)
Helmut Kohl (Chancellor, CDU)
Gerhard Schröder (Chancellor, SPD)
Angela Merkel (Chancellor, CDU, former unofficial member (IM) of the Stasi under the code name 'IM Erika')
Wolfgang Schäuble (various federal minister positions from 1984 to today, CDU)
Walter Scheel (Federal President, FDP)
Franz Josef Strauß (Various federal minister positions from 1953 to 1969, CSU)
Guido Westerwelle (Secretary of State, FDP)
Joschka Fischer (former Secretary of State, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen)
Otto Schily (Home Secretary, SPD)
Peer Steinbrück (former Treasury Secretary, SPD)
Olaf Scholz (Secretary of State for Employmen, SPD)
Jürgen Trittin (Environment Secretary, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen)

etc, etc, etc.

Of course not all at once and constantly. Mainly at the time when they had their mandate.

My apologies. I admit to not thinking beyond these shores, so will go and stand in the naughty corner for ten minutes!

At the last meeting, you had:

Ackermann, Josef: Deutsche Bank AG
Enders, Thomas: CEO, Airbus
Ischinger, Wolfgang: Allianz SE
Koch, Roland: CEO, Bilfinger Berger SE
Löscher, Peter: President and CEO, Siemens AG
Nass, Matthias: Chief International Correspondent, Die Zeit
Reitzle, Wolfgang: CEO & President, Linde AG
Trittin, Jürgen: Parliamentary Leader, Alliance 90/The Greens

It does sound like the sort of group you'd find on the golf course!

I'm struggling to find a reason to be worried.

first a question , the above meeting with these Germans was that at a Bilderberg meeting ? ?

And for the reason to be worried , well i am worried , I wanna know are they getting pissed and party (why am I not at this party!!! ) or do they discuss whether we->(every citizen in the world) should get a RFID chip in our arms for example.....

And squigg58 fyi : my last conspiracy was watergate which was a legit one to say it was a conspiracy.

I don't think it has to be one extreme or the other!
As I mentioned earlier, the only UK political figures involved were a junior minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government, a minister without portfolio, and two members of The Lords ... and they weren't all from the same political party! I'd suggest that if it was meeting to discuss the mass implant of computer chips, we could have sent some bigger hitters!

Yup, Watergate was a conspiracy ... primarily by one political party against another, with a reluctance to "fess up" to illegal activities! However, as Cheekymonkey rightly pointed out, any "evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons" is a conspiracy. The hacking of private phones by the media was a conspiracy. A company fiddling its tax returns is a conspiracy. A wife taking responsibility for their husband speeding is a conspiracy. A bank robbery is a conspiracy.

Conspiracies happen. There are conspiracies by governments, and there conspiracies against governments. However, as I previously mentioned, that in itself isn't evidence to support conspiracy theories in general. Since 1933 people have conspired to blow up passenger airliners. It doesn't mean that any airliner crash must be a conspiracy. Each event must be looked at based on the information relating to that specific case.

The Rockefeller's publicly thanked the press for NOT reporting the Bilderburg group. Dodgy group deciding who's next to die.

okay the RFID chip is a bit extreme but I still think : if you have nothing to hide , tell what is being discussed at these meetings.

and maybe the less big hitters that where sent are pawns in a chess game..

i know that from my country (Holland) there were political less important guys and gall's attending , which made raised my concerns levels. of why are you there......for what reason ?

and your right because of the lack of information relating to this specific case I begin to speculate and thinks it's stinks

The agenda is published, and I don't see anything about world domination!

However, I'm going to be a bit cynical here, much as it goes against my nature!

If someone chooses to believe that underhand things are being planned the Bilderburg meetings, I very much doubt they're going to believe any published account which fails to match up to their preconceived ideas! It's the old self-fulfilling prophecy approach, which I have to say is quite common in conspiracy theories.

1. It must be a conspiracy because they won't say what they're discussing.
2. If they say what they're discussing it must be a lie because there's a conspiracy!

Just speaking in general terms, there's a delicious irony in the argument which starts "if you have nothing to hide ..." as that's the same argument used by those who are the subject of so many conspiracy theories!

"They're watching us!"
"Well, do you have anything to hide?"
"That's not the point!"

We can all let our imaginations run free and come up with stories of evil goings-on! That doesn't make it real. Personally, I'd suggest that if politicians, captains of industry, scholars, journalists etc were getting together with a view to "chipping" the world's population or bumping people off, we wouldn't even know about it!

I should also add that if I ran the Bilderburg Group, I'd make damned sure that all the members acted as furtively as possible, just to put the willies up people who like to be scared!

Than again, I do have a fairly warped sense of humour as I demonstrated to myself by starting a rumour on a conspiracy theory website! The complete garbage I made up is now being touted around on other sites as fact, and I'm delighted to note that I'm even being referred to as a "well known scientific expert"! The only problem is that as I don't believe the story I fabricated, I'm apparently "gullible and naive"!

I was talking to a guy at work today, who is quite intelligent and normally sensible, out of the blue he started telling me the bilderburg group were descended from the Fabian society and controlled the EU which they had been planning since before WW2, but my eyes glazed over, maybe I should have paid more attention
