I'm sorry uli, I like The Strain, I really do and I'll keep watching it for as long as it stays alive, but you're being very generous with those scores. I'd lower them to around half of it, and they won't be too far from what the show actually is.

Hello Friends,

this only my subjectiv perception! For me it is a very good Series!

The difference between a Series and a critic is so often in the eye of the beholder.

I don't know about The Strain but I tried to get into Better Call Saul, though I knew we shouldn't expect too much. Saul Goodman was a great character but only within the broader pool of characters and context of Breaking Bad as the show's comic relief. But creating a spin-off based on a single character and in the shadow of such a huge hit series like BB isn't exactly the best idea. Vince Gilligan should've left BB behind to dedicate himself to new projects and ideas. Back when he was involved with The X-files, its two spin-offs failed too. Better Call Saul's ratings were great when the show premiered but they keep falling. I guess by the end of the season, its continuation won't be certain. I stopped watching this show after the third episode.

Right now I'm following The Walking Dead. Not sure why because it's complete trash. Completely predictable, badly written and full of soap elements. The show follows the same pattern every half season: separation, reunion, struggle against a hostile group of survivors. I looked into the comics and they're much worse.

"The West Wing."

I never thought I could like a show about politics, but this show proved me totally wrong. Great ensemble cast and winner of many, many awards.

As has become common in the US, I now have a number of cable channels showing nothing but old shows, like Perry Mason, Peter Gunn, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, etc. Many of them are entertaining and nostalgic for me, as I am 64 years old and remember them well. One of my favorites was "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" and the most recent episode shown, "The Girls of Nazarone" was one I rembered liking very much but I could not remember why until I saw it. Several hot young women, but many of the episodes had those. What made it extra special was that one of the hot young women was a race car driver, and there were a number of scenes featuring her driving a full-race Cobra, with the 289 V8 with 4 webers. Just brilliant.
