Taylor Swift "1989"
The CD runs only for 49 minutes which seems rather short for a CD album; I am sure there is space for 4 more tracks. But against this, what there is is good. Apart from the single releases, of which there are six in thirteen tracks total, there are some excellent tracks which were not released as singles and it is quite hard to find them on youtube. This Love is one of these; another is Wildest Dreams for which I was at least able to find a decent video on youtube. I note a recurring theme in Ms Swift's work, unusual for such a young artist in the prime of her life and at her artistic peak, in which she reflects on transience and mortality, and especially on being remembered after it is over. How does she know so much when she is still so young?

Lillian Axe is another lesser-known hard rock / hair metal band, whose music on their first four CDs was decent, although their style changed after that to more of a darker sound.
Their song "Show A Little Love" is the best one on the album Love + War, which has a girl posed in implied nudity similarly to a Britny Fox album. Another of their albums features a grandma holding a battle axe, so their taste in art is somewhat crazy... |
