Antonio Vivaldi is my favorite composer from the Baroque period. He started out being a priest, and then a schoolteacher in an all girl's school. Then his musical talent began and he started a small orchestra made up of his students. Vivaldi is often called the "concerto king" because he composed concertos for every instrument known. For the violin alone he wrote more than 250 concertos. He also wrote sonatas, and a lot of church music. This is a disc of sonatas for cello and double bass. My disc is out of print so you will hear music from a re-issued disc.
