Umm, as far as trades go, Plumbers and Electricians are on big money, sort of.
There's been a minor shortage of Electricians here since the early 90's after the worldwide recession and big companies after that cut down on apprentice intakes, when I started my apprenticeship in 85, that blue oval car maker I worked for took in 33 sparkies as apprentices that year and that figure was pretty much the same till after the recession, it was around the 6 to 8 mark every year after that, same went for fitters. Most other big companies intakes were cut a huge amount also. With all that as the older tradies retired there were less coming up the ranks to replace them.

But, as far as tradesma ... gotta be PC tradespersons go , it's a big mix of where they're from , but I am certain all came form their Mums (Mom for the Yanks ) womb

Not anymore. No longer are male children following in their father's footsteps and joining the family business. Every kid now wants to go into computers or business. That where the big money is.

My question is what is it like in Australia? Are most of your labor people local Australians or foreigners from Poland, Czechs, Serbia, Bosnia, Russia, etc?
There was a large migrant intake after WW2. Italian's, Greek's and Pole's where I live. Now days it's a mix of second gen Europeans, Asian's, Aussie's, Kiwi's. It's a real mixed bag here but mostly Aussie's.
