Find Larger/Similar Images from Source Image
Google has a great little feature that helps me a lot when looking for larger versions or alternate versions of images. It can even help identify who is in an image if the poster does not know.
1. Open up two windows. one to http://images.google.com/ and another to your favorite website (e.g. VEF) 2. Click and hold your mouse on the source image (don't let up on the mouse button). Drag it to the search bar on google image search. You should see a box that says "Drop Image Here." Then let go. 3. You should get a page showing the source, possibly a name (if popular enough), similar images and some links. For Erotica - Be sure you have "Safe Search" turned off! Click the "All sizes - Small - Medium - Large" links to find other sizes of the same image. (Note: If only small or small/medium size images are available, Medium and/or Large links do not appear). Click "Visually similar images" to see alternatives. If Google comes up with a name, click on the name link next to "Best guess for this image" to search more images of that individual. You could also try TinEye: http://www.tineye.com/ But I've found it doesn't have as many results and only shows nearly identical image results. Last edited by pbd; June 19th, 2011 at 01:05 PM.. |

A Couple Of Extra Related Tips
I hope that I am not treading on toes here, but there are a couple of quick results refinement methods that can be used to turn up more specific sizes or similar images.
When the search page results in Google is on the image search results, there are two other methods to find more pictures. (1) The left-hand navigation offers a quick size search for the term entered in the search box. (2) Moving the mouse over each picture returned in the results, offers a pop up of the picture, which offers two choices: “Similar” or “More sizes” These are illustrated here: If you select 'Similar' you get additional pictures but its not terribly accurate as you can see .... but does return more images on the same subject. However selecting 'More sizes' is far more satisfactory in its returns i.e. More identical pictures but differing in sizes of it. Hope that all makes sense |

Google has an extension for Chrome and Firefox that allows right-clicking for this feature:
Extension links at lower-right http://www.google.com/insidesearch/searchbyimage.html Chrome users, also check out "Show Just Image 2" which hides all the extra crap on image hosting sites: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...pcjoacnnfncain |
