I've watched him on Russia Today and I'd agree - he is on the case and he does understand realpolitik.

But he is also quite good at arresting dissident (in his view) opposition politicians and journalists. Tricky for pollsters to allow for that statistically.

I don't have a youtube link, but Maria Zakharova from our Foreign Ministry gave a lecture about British history of this kind in Moscow today. Everything she says is accurate and proven by history. But I wonder why she gave the address in Russian, because we've known that for a long time. It's the British who don't know their history -- that's why so many of them are unknowingly self-righteous

Sorry comrade but most Brits are well able to laugh at ourselves and how others see us, it's water off a duck's back.
We have been lampooning our own leaders (of all political colours) for many years, well before Punch, Private Eye and Spitting Image and as we have explained on many occasions we are well aware of our history, both good and bad.

No as you'll only believe what Putin on the Ritz approves and sticking a picture of Jean-Claude Killy (who as we all know was the US President in the 1960's who inspired the manned missions to the moon, although it soon went downhill) does not help.
You must spend a lot of time looking through windows into British schoolrooms, watch it as that old "I'm only the gardener" excuse won't work all the time
