Having suffered a similar fate at the hands, er, feet of the mighty Newport in the last round and therefore having nothing to do but the proverbial 'concentrate on the league' for the rest of the season, Leeds decided to hoick the first team squad off to Malaga as what can only be described as an unwarranted jolly.

Do picture show intense training sessions, working on our knife through butter style defensive frailties, as gleefully exploited by Millwall in our latest capitulation? Do they pip. Instead the pics show lads insignificantly twatting about with a ball and going through a few minor tricks and motions before presuambly having a rest in the sunshine.

The standard of defending in domestic football has never been so bloody awful. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's the officials who might chose to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking side, not the defenders? Most now can't tackle, struggle to read the game and apparently all you really need is to be able to run like a scalded cat, point and shout at everyone else and ensure that under no circumstances will there be any contact in the box.
All these four goal scorelines might look great on MoTD, but what they are really demonstrating is that the pendulum has swung too far. The art of defending is regressing back to schoolboy level.

Defending is basically dead, protected by the midfield , but when they are not there defending appears to have serious deficiencies, these days its more about shepherding the opponent away from goal rather than attempting to win the ball, perhaps from fear of some theatricals if they catch the player or the dreaded red card. I can no longer tell what is a yellow or red card offence.
As for a penalty its in the hands of the gods or the frame of mind of the referee.
Finally as for David Moyes saying Tito Gobby deserves all he gets, the three wise ones should be ripping up his contract and escorting him off the premises, never to return. From a personal point of view I do not want any player at WHU who is capable of such a despicable act.

New Stadium, lots of money to buy £30 mill players and challenging for Europe.

Yet again, loans, loans and more loans to fix the last transfer window mess and so it continues. when the loan deal expires they will just return to whence they came.

Just get out of my club and throw yourselves in the river or canal.

It would appear Ayew returning to Swansea is close as both clubs have basically agreed a fee.
All the would be loanee discussion's have apparently gone west with player or loaning club not happy.
Tonight's team will be interesting, depending on who is fit.
