Had a snoop around this room of wonders and found a five pound coin plus two early two pound jobs.

Even found a coin from 1066

But, it's a simpleton's notion that something can be impossible to forge. Anything that can be produced can be reproduced

The question is whether it's worth forging. The currency is already worth 20% less in real money than a year ago

If the half-sovereign is gold, then I would imagine it's worth it's weight in gold.

Just done a quick google and it seems they are worth £150+. I presume that would be in exc condition, and not newly minted for some reason.

I found the gold coin beneath the floorboards of an old farmhouse in Ayrshire which I was helping to rewire.

As I recall a couple of gay guys were converting it into a "riding" school - but that's another story.
