Ok ok granted i personally find her deeply talented and darn attractive, but still .
Jewel - Hands
If I could tell the world just one thing It would be that we're all OK And not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful And useless in times like these I won't be made useless I won't be idle with despair I will gather myself around my faith For light does the darkness most fear My hands are small, I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own And I am never broken Poverty stole your golden shoes It didn't steal your laughter And heartache came to visit me But I knew it wasn't ever after We'll fight, not out of spite For someone must stand up for what's right 'Cause where there's a man who has no voice There ours shall go singing My hands are small I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own I am never broken In the end only kindness matters In the end only kindness matters I will get down on my knees, and I will pray I will get down on my knees, and I will pray I will get down on my knees, and I will pray My hands are small I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own And I am never broken My hands are small I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own And I am never broken We are never broken We are God's eyes God's hands God's mind We are God's eyes God's hands God's heart We are God's eyes God's hands God's eyes We are God's hands We are God's hands

All of his songs hit me , especially with the slight annoyance that i`ll never be able to write anywhere close to the perfectly smooth way he does .
Ian (Let him be immortal) Hunter - When I'm President
Mother I`m a stranger in a strange land I feel like an alien Like I'm on the outside looking in I don't seem to fit in Maybe I'm Aladdin with a rusty lamp A Genie never stood a chance To make all my wishes come true But here’s what I want to do I'm gonna lean on the 1% When I'm President I want a 20th Amendment When I'm President They're like thieves on a Holy Host Digging up the mother lode Like Pirates on the open sea Like highway robbery Still whining about your bonus Man up, you’re ridiculous Hell you can't take it with ya So, give a little extra I'm gonna lean on the 1% When I’m President No more bargains - in the basement When I'm President Washington - Jefferson Watch out baby cause here I come Abraham - Theodore You know you'll see my ugly mug Up on MOUNT RUSHMORE - YEAH You go in with the right intent When you become President You hold those truths to be self-evident When you become president Cause somethin’ happens to you up on the hill It's business as usual How do you want to buck the system? Welcome to the Pit and the Pendulum I'm gonna lean on the 1% When I'm President No more 20th amendment When I'm President No more bargains in the basement When I'm President Everything's gonna be different When I'm President Veto this YEAH Veto that YEAH When I'm President I'll stick it to the first class Cross my heart Hope to die When I'm President Pigs are gonna fly Look at ‘em...

It's Over -- Level 42
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2NNbcurjdM I won't be here when you come home I'm sorry if you don't understand, forgive me if you can But I can see another road And I ain't coming back Don't look for me around this town 'cause I will be so far away, you'll never find me anywhere And I won't take no souvenirs No perfumed picture promises Because it's over And I ain't coming back You gave me everything And now I'm breaking your heart You know that I don't mean To tear your world apart I would never leave if I thought you couldn't stand the pain A letter in the hall Is written on the wall A letter with no words of love at all Because it's over And I ain't coming back And as I close the door I know I'm breaking your heart I should have loved you more Instead I've torn your world apart And as I walk into the lonely afternoon I feel sad enough I feel bad enough And all the times when you are lonely where you are Please don't hate me then I just could not pretend Tears Feel the tears I can feel the tears Running through the years |

This is the song dedicated to his best friend, the late great Mick Ronson MICHAEL PICASSO Once upon a time Not so long ago People used to stand and stare At the spider with the platinum hair They thought you were immortal We had our ups and downs Like brothers often do But I was there for him He was always there for me And we were there for you How can I put into words What my heart feels? It’s the deepest thing When somebody you love dies I just wanted To give something back to you Gift to gift Michael, michael picasso good night You used to love our house You said it was relaxing Now I walk in the places you walk I talk in all the spaces you talk It still hasn’t sunk in Are the words real That come into my head On a morning walk? Do the shadows Play tricks with my mind? For it feels like Nothing has changed But I know it has Michael, michael picasso Good night Heal me Won’t you Heal me? Nothing lasts forever Set me free Heal me Won’t you Heal me? I’m the one who’s left here Heal me Heal me Heal me You turned into a ghost Surrounded by your pain And the thing that I liked the least Was sitting ’round hasker street Lying about the future And we all sit In a room full of tears On a windy day And I looked out But none of these words seem right I just wanted To give something back to you Gift to gift Michael, michael picasso Good night The perfect tribute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bmes2qOQzWw |

The Green Fields Of France.
The Fureys and Davey Arthur. Written By Eric Bogle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntt3wy-L8Ok Well, how do you do, young Willie McBride? Do you mind if I sit here down by your graveside? And rest for a while in the warm summer sun, I've been walking all day, and I'm nearly done. I see by your gravestone you were only 19 When you joined the great fallen in 1916, I hope you died well and I hope you died clean Or, Willie McBride, was it slow and obscene? Did they beat the drum slowly, did they play the fife lowly? Did they sound the death march as they lowered you down? Did the band play The Last Post in chorus? And did the pipes play the Flowers of the Forest? Did you leave a wife or a sweetheart behind In some faithful heart is your memory enshrined? Although, you died back in 1916, In that faithful heart are you forever 19? Or are you a stranger without even a name, Enclosed in forever behind the glass frame, In an old photograph, torn, battered and stained, And faded to yellow in a brown leather frame? Did they beat the drum slowly, did they play the fife lowly? Did they sound the death march as they lowered you down? Did the band play The Last Post in chorus? And did the pipes play the Flowers of the Forest? The sun now it shines on the green fields of France; There’s a warm summer breeze that makes the red poppies dance. And look how the sun shines from under the clouds There’s no gas, no barbed wire, there’s no guns firing now. But here in this graveyard it’s still No Man's Land The countless white crosses stand mute in the sand To man's blind indifference to his fellow man. To a whole generation that were butchered and damned. Did they beat the drum slowly, did they play the fife lowly? Did they sound the death march as they lowered you down? Did the band play The Last Post in chorus? And did the pipes play the Flowers of the Forest? Ah young Willie McBride, I can’t help wonder why, Do those that lie here know why did they die? And did they believe when they answered the cause, Did they really believe that this war would end wars? Well the sorrow, the suffering, the glory, the pain, The killing and dying, were all done in vain. For Willie McBride, it all happened again, And again, and again, and again, and again. Did they beat the drum slowly, did they play the fife lowly? Did they sound the death march as they lowered you down? Did the band play The Last Post in chorus? And did the pipes play the Flowers of the Forest? Did they beat the drum slowly, did they play the fife lowly? Did they sound the death march as they lowered you down? Did the band play The Last Post in chorus? And did the pipes play the Flowers of the Forest?

Time for another from me
I really don't wanna say too much, my Mum was a big fan of Mark_Brzezickis' drumming and I must say the world could have done with a few more years of Stuart Adamsons' company - but this song unconditionally & disproportionally gets to me

If only she could have been Mrs MariaJoker .
Maria Mckee - To miss someone
I’ve been keeping busy since we’ve said goodbye But all I do is think about you The days are quick, the nights are long I feel them tick, I watch them crawl I’m petrified of running out of things to do Though I’ve never really been in love I know now what it means To miss someone I have not been winning since we’ve said goodbye Nothing fits and everything feels wrong I guess it’s useless to deny it I’ll admit that I’ve been crying Guess I’m not so independent after all Though I’ve never really been in love I know now what it means To miss someone Sometimes I dream we find each other in the night and pass each other by But part of me is running through every vein inside of you I know where you’re going I know where you’ve been I know everything about you The walls inside my head will shake the very second that you break I’d sell my soul to keep yours at my heel Though I’ve never really been in love I know now how it feels to miss someone

The album "Paper Monsters" got me through a tough time about 8 years ago, and there's something in this song, the simplicity or Dave Gahans' vocals that cut me to the quick.
