Second that - after some time using the free version of the excellent MalwareBytes I paid to upgrade to MWB Pro and it has been an excellent investment - this blocks all attempted accesses (overt or covert) to suspicious sites in real-time.

Aha - I'm getting a warning from Avast now if I visit the index page while I'm not logged in - normally I never do that.

Sky Broadband Shield is blocking VEF saying this is due to malware or phishing.

The script mentioned by milliem doesn't show up in my version of noscript so perhaps it's an intermittent problem. We've had similar issues in the past and the common theme is that it mainly affects users with Avast.

There is definitely a problem lurking somewhere on VEF once again - a browse of a VEF thread today (note - not drill down into JPG or link) produced two IP blocks by MWB Pro then 'threat detected - being removed' by MS SE. The history file logs it as being found in the Temporary Internet Files as 'Backdoor:Win32/Simda.AT'.
