By 2066 all of Britain is going to become part of the Scottish Empire. Aye, keep rolling your eyes. Whoever disagrees will be forced to eat haggis while listening to Runrig records every day, for ten years at least.

Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrating her 115th year as the Head of State, Palm trees will be growing in the Midlands, and Scots will have sworn off all alcoholic beverages and men wearing dresses.

What is absolutely true today as in years past will still be true in 2066 and beyond. In March 2066 the World is shocked by an alien invasion. In a feat of unparalleled bravery, Tommy Robinson attacks the alien mothership that has landed in the Mall. Despite taking two alien blaster shots to the chest, Robinson knocks out the three ten foot tall aliens defending their Alien Emperor. He then kills the Emperor thus freeing the World from alien tyranny. Badly injured, Robinson staggers back down the ramp of the mothership where he is arrested by the police for driving to the alien mothership in a car with one rear brakelight not working.

Oh, Britain will have rejoined the European Federation in 2035 as a fully committed Member like everyone else. They'll have the €€€ and love using it, because it's useful everywhere. After trashing FPTP, they'll have a representative parliament that cares about what the people want (this will be new for them). They will have trashed trident and sold the useless carriers to Australia (suckers, no sympathy)

And after the depths of Brexit, they will once again be a leading a respected economy with a place at the top table. They won't keep their UNSC permanent seat, but will be fully in picture with the European Federations's permanent seat

If all that comes true, you'll be doing well

Machine-brain interfaces will be perfected in 2066, giving direct mental access to the world wide web. Everyone will know everything, be able to speak all languages, perform surgery, build box girder bridges, fix fusion reactors, instantly connect to every person on the planet, perhaps even talk to animals, maybe switch minds to different bodies and turn on or off coffee machines and TVs just by thinking about it. By 2070, there will only be two races remaining. Those who have become hysterical zombies with direct feeds into their pleasure centres giving them non-stop, full power orgasms until they die and the rest who are now members of the Borg who think like a collective. Meanwhile, AI will have quietly taken over running everything ...
