Bill Hicks was sublime, and I defy anybody to watch Eddie Izzard's 'star wars' canteen skit and not laugh. I find Jerry Seinfeld very funny, in his bizarrely detached way, where he can talk about the most horrific aspects of the human condition with a slight smile on his face (although obviously George was the star of the show). Louis CK is also great, as is Chris Rock.
Nobody made me laugh harder than Rik Mayall when I was a teenager, which I'm pretty sure means that nobody will ever make me laugh that hard ever again. Everything he did was funny. Perhaps more controversially, I'll say that Jim Carrey in the Ace Ventura movies are two of the finest comedy performances I've ever seen. It's not exactly high art, but it's hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tDUwNjw7ms Will Arnett as GOB in Arrested Development is my favourite comedy performance on a television show. The first time I saw this I started laughing so hard that I fell off my chair and whacked my knee, but I still couldn't stop laughing, and I ended up kinda rolling around on the floor in agony/hilarity squealing like a pig having an orgasm: Gob's sexual harassment speech to employees Probably my favourite stand-up of all time is Dave Chappelle, I don't think any stand-up has ever made me laugh more: Why he only gets high with his white friends As Samuel L Jackson I've enjoyed 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt', Tina Fey knows what she's doing. And obviously there's the people who wrote the Simpsons in the 1990s, and the Monty Pythons. |

Cocaine is a hell of a drug. Richard Pryor during an interview. How do you edit this together?

Bought Harry Hill's live show Sausage Time from a charity shop last week. For the first half hour I sat there bored to tears. As the show goes on you realize how brilliantly he sets the show up. By the end I was convinced I'd spent 90mins being thoroughly entertained.

Kathy Griffin. Nice to see a lot of people don't agree with Hollywood or that nasty little troll in the White House.

Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't get all het up at the dummy head picture. I just think it was stupid and certainly not funny. This wasn't an attempt at humour, it was playing to a certain crowd and blew up in her face. Then for her to try and play the victim was something of an embarrassment.
I saw a video last week of Sally Kohn reacting to the Trump wrestling CNN logo. Her fake indignance was ludicrous and I could not pretend to be like that in the Griffin case.
